Soooo many post topics and forums to choose from. I'm looking for someone who generally does all the right things as far as exercise and diet, but isn't seeing results quickly enough to "make it worth it". Everytime I try to eat right, and exercise I feel like I bend over backwards for no results
How do you "push" through?

you just have to do it....keep doing it even when you dont think its worth it......it will pay off...and its like you said, we're not looking for immediate results....we're looking for long term health0

I'm "pushing through" right now. I've been eating right, and working out for 2.4 weeks now, I haven't lost a pound.
I won't let that stop me though, I'm learning to LOVE my time at the gym, it's my ME time. It's the only time of the day that everything I do, is for ME. Love it! :-)
Eating differently is taking some getting used to. I used to skip breakfast AND lunch. Now I'm having both, WITH snacks. It's tough, but I know I'm doing the right things, and it WILL pay off, sooner or later. (Clearly later in my case)
If you really want this, you can do it! :-)0 -
Welcome Tammi. I'm new to posting but have been using the site on and off for a year. My biggest problem in the past is wanting and expecting to see results immediately. No more! I'm in this for the long run. This is officially day two for me and I'm enjoying it.
Feel free to admit me if you wish. Good luck!

Hi!
I haven't lost a pound since I started working out either, but you have to keep going--soon you'll see that you have more energy and overall just feel healthier. It's not always about losing weight, though that's always a plus!
I slacked off for months and gained whatever I lost back. Now I'm back to counting calories and doing yoga again. It takes a lot of effort, and building up a tougher workout routine little by little. But I think if other people can do it without going on crazy diets or paying lots of money to fitness programs, I can do it too.
You're not alone! I hope this helps!0 -
Welcome to the site!
First off, I think introductions would be a fine place to start. I started my weight loss journey over four years ago as a teenager. I have hypothyroid that has finally been re-aligned to behave with its bad self. I started running one day during a summer heat wave (I was an idiot, I know.) Since then, it's taken me four years to lose over 20 pounds, though, it's at a much more consistent rate since I know how to eat and all.
I've always done extreme workouts and had many times wondered why I wasn't seeing results. Perseverance and a want to be healthy and thin, or whatever whim that you pursue, will be what keeps you on track.
What sort of exercises do you like? I'm a runner at heart, so that's what I stick with along with Tae Bo and sometimes cardio dance by Billy Blanks, Jr. Same goes with food. Eating out is very manageable if you know how they cook their food and what to request, etc.0 -
For me, this really is a daily struggle. The way which has worked for me to "push through" is just to remember that in the end, I am eating better, exercising more, and in general being healthier than I was. If I don't lose the pounds for the week, well yeah, I didn't hit my goal. But you know what else I didn't do? I didn't eat ten times more than I should. I didn't eat two large pizzas on my own. I didn't sit in front of the TV all day long doing nothing else. I didn't give up.
It is pretty obvious to me that you are seeing the same things I am, and I sure hope many people see it like this too. That this is a journey. Every single day you will be hit with challenges. Some of them might beat you. But in the end, you are improving yourself, and you don't ever give up. To me, that's pretty awesome.0 -
Welcome and good luck with your dieting/fitness!
It takes time for sure and it does get easier after awhile. I think I am currently at a point where I need to change up my routine.0 -
I'm new here too, and know exactly what you're talking about. While it's been several months since I've seen a weight loss (that's my own fault), I've lost 42 lbs. since Sept. '10. I can tell you that the first 8-10 lbs came off quickly, then nothing. It's very, very frustrating. I remember feeling like, "why am I working this hard if nothing is going to happen? I might as well just eat the stuff I want". But, I stuck with it, telling myself that I would stick it out for just three months...I could do anything for 12 weeks. And it actually started comming off. I didn't see a difference in clothes sizes until the 20 lbs. mark. Then people actually started noticing and commenting--very motivating! For me, I dropped a clothes size with each 20 lbs. I lost. I can guarantee you that if you'll just stick with it, and keep doing what you're doing, you're going to see results. It may not be instant, but it will happen. You can totally do this. It'll be hard. It'll be a challenge every day. But it's so worth it! You've got this. Imagine yourself at your goal weight and do what it takes to get there!0

Thanks to all of you who posted to this message. Its been about 3 weeks and I've only lost about 4lbs give or take daily depending on what time I weigh. I know that I will have ups and downs and I'm focusing on my goals and trying to persevere through the tough days when I crave the foods that will put me over calories and fat in one fail swoop. Most days I'm winning. I have to keep reminding myself that food is not what will make me happy and achieving my goals will make me happy. Thank you for your support. Good luck on your goals as well!0
