I have been on my fitness pal for awhile and was really following it there for awhile. Well, I have decided to begin again...cleaned off my friends list and ready to start doing this! Looking for active friends that will push me to stay motivated! Would love to find some around St Louis/St Charles....but please feel free to send me a request no matter where you are! I have about 80 lbs to lose and would like to lose 45 of it before the end of October! I know that is a huge goal and it may be tough but I think I can do it! Send me a request if you would like to join me on my journey. I will be posting before/after pics soon, and I will also be starting the 30 day shred tomorrow, on the 8th!

Hi, how are you? My name is Diana and I live in South Texas and you just motivated me. I had not logged in awhile, but I am glad I did cause now I know that I am not the only one out there that stops and starts again. I am weighing almost 190 pounds and I feel if I do not take care of this weight loss, sooner or later it will start affecting me health wise. I am fifty years old and have a grandbaby boy who is seven months, I am his main caretaker and I feel he needs me for a long time. So I decided this is it, I am going to continue the journey I just started. I would like to weigh at least 155 lbs. When I was young, weightloss to me meant looking beautiful, but when you get to be my age it is all about staying healthy to be around for our children, and grandchildren for a long time. You look like you are still very young and pretty do not give up. Start now so that when you get to be my age you will be one step ahead than everyone out there strugglling with their weight issues. All you have to worry is enjoy your children and grandchildren. When you get to be my age it gets harder and harder to lose the weight. You start with aches and pains here and there due to age, but if you start now you will not only look younger but feel great. May God Bless You in this journey ......I know that you can do it.0

You can do this! You really can.
One thing I'd be careful about? Setting large goals in a small time frame. Sometimes our bodies fight us while we are on this journey --- don't get so caught up on losing X amount by X date because if for some reason you hit a wall and your body is fighting you -- you may lose sight of your goal and feel guilty for not losing it in your time frame.
I say set small goals because they are easier to achieve and you'll feel the success of them quicker.0 -
Thank you all. Diana, that is also my main motivation-I want to be here for my children and their children in the future. I want to be a good role model for them, so that they hopefully never have to go through weight struggles. Chevy88grl...thank you. I know that large goals are sometimes discouraging, but I have to order a bridesmaid dress in October for a wedding in April so I am hoping to get to a weight that I can maintain until then and still be feeling better than now...you know? So, I set a goal of 40-50 lbs and then going to try to maintain that for 6 months and then start back with a goal of another 40 lbs and then maintain forever. I understand that there will be setbacks and I could hit a wall, but even if I lose .5 a week it is still 1/2 a pound gone! I promise I won't get discouraged this time....I'm all about any weight loss is still weight loss!0

I'm new to MFP, but definitely not new to the start and stop weight loss struggle. It feels like I've been dealing with it for my entire life. I started a serious weight loss journey last Sept., lost 42 lbs. and stopped...before I met my goal. Today is the day I'm starting again and have 30 lbs. to lose. So I'm here being motivated by people like you. Seeing that there are more people like me out there...who are brave enough to start back again after giving up for a while...makes me so much more encouraged. So thank you. There's no doubt that we can do this! It'll take hard work and determination, but it is possible! And just think about how good it's going to feel to walk down the isle at that wedding knowing that you look great and that you did what it takes to get there (not to mention the health benefits). Good luck! Can't wait to see your progress!0
