I've always wondered about these. Fried foods without all the fatty oils?? Sounds like a win win situation to em! :):):)

I have one, it's not a replacement for frying, but it is a replacement for oven roasting. I eat a lot more roast vegetables using my airfryer than I would if I had to use the oven

I enjoy making onion rings, fries, chips and spring rolls.

Food tastes much better than baking in the oven, but to me it does not replace deep frying.

I really enjoy mine. As others have said there's no replacement for deep frying, but I think it makes better french fries, egg rolls, wontons and other things like that than the oven does. I also like not having to heat up my whole oven for one serving.

I do fries in mine. Yeah, they are not deep-fired, but they are crisper than I get out of the oven. We've done other things (chicken, fish etc.) but it's been mostly fires from hand put potatoes.

Not fried but more uniformly crisp, not hard, and with less burned tips. Didn't want to spend a lot, bought a GoWise fryer and am very pleased.

I also have been interested in one but have hesitated wondering if it's just another gimmick

It's just a convection oven. My oven has a convection setting and I just use that for making wings and "fried chicken". If you toss your chicken in some baking powder and cook in a convection oven, it crisps up really nice...almost like fried.

ETA: I'm not sure how much "healthier" it is than just frying...I don't really consider my wings to be a health food...but it's a lot less messy.

I love mine. I use it for French fries, onion rings, cheese sticks and chicken tenders. It's also amazing for re-heating any leftover fried food from a restaurant.
