My leg muscles twitch after a good workout. What causes this? It doesn't hurt at all, just a tick annoying.

I'm totally opposite. If I don't work out for a day or two, my legs get really twitchy. Like you said, it doesn't hurt. Just twitchy. :D

I get achy when I don't exercise for sure. Maybe we're just two twitchy women:)

For me it's either caffeine or hydration.

I get this, but I don't know what causes it. I just always figured that muscle was extra fatigued.

I used to get this a lot after BodyPump. Thigh muscle would twitch like mad. Am also going with the extra fatigued reason :)

I get this all the time - especially in my reconstructed foot. Charlie Horses like crazy. I think it's due to dehydration

You're stressing the muscles, so its a common after effect but can be annoying. Drink plenty of water both before and after, and make sure you get your electrolyte minerals- potassium especially, plus magnesium to ensure its absorption. Extra water will move out the lactic acid buildup as well.

Try some Magnesium Citrate. If that doesn't work, you can try Potassium. OJ is 400 mg of Potassium per glass.

I get it all the time too. It's bizarre to see, especially when I'm wearing shorts and there's motion all over my quads.

Thanks all. I have really been pushing my quads lately. I'm drinking plenty of H2o. I used to take Magnesium for general wellness, but stopped a while back. I'll definitely try taking it again, and see what I can do about upping my potassium. You are all very helpful. Thanks!

I find my skin on my legs is very itchy after I have done some running. Not sure what that's about. It does eventually calm down.

Did you take pre workout. Maybe it’s the uppers in that pumpkin through your body still

That used to happen to me back when I could run. No clue what causes it.

Your muscles contract due to electrical current produced by minerals and electrolytes in your body..... there is an imbalance,,,,, have a protein drink and banana,,,,, should help

    Thank you!
