I love carbs. But I don't do "diets" and I hate making things more complicated than they need to be. I just eat what I want within my calorie limits. Super easy. B)

I haven't specifically tried that diet, but I tend to eat a lot of carbs because I like bagels, sandwiches, etc., and I have lost 35 lbs since Halloween. If you set yourself up with the correct calorie deficit, you will lose weight regardless of whether you are high carb, low carb, etc. The key for me is finding the foods that make me feel full, and for me, that typically tends to be carbs and meats like chicken. Veggies, however healthy, don't do the trick for me. I eat a salad, and 20 minutes later, I am starving again. Others get full on veggies...go figure.

Rather than focusing on high carb, low carb diets, I would focus instead on what works for you. It could be a great diet, but if you don't stick to it because the food is too bland, or not to your liking, it won't be a good diet for you.

My mum bought the book. I didn't read it all, but I read enough to wonder why a diet that restricted carbs called itself the carb lovers diet.

I live in Italy. People eat a high carb diet--within reason, and they are thin.

So true. I lived there for 2 years! Pasta is a staple and they stay pretty thin. Though the Italians also don’t make weird things like Chicken Alfredo or put sugar in their tomato sauce. ;)

Check out John Mcdougall's Starch Solution. It has been my way of life for a month and I am seeing results.
