Hello just joined. Im just curious as to how mfp decided i only needed 1550 cals a day. This seems very low to me.

Also can anyone look at my diary and offer advice on how im eating so far?

Please i really want to do well with this x

Ps i swim 2 times a week
Ride horses 4 times a week
And maybe do 1 hitt gym class or spinning a week.

Im 32 and 11.9st. Aim to be 11 stone then maybe aim for 10.7st if still not happy.

Thank guys mwah xx

You told the truth to mfp when you said "I am this tall, this old, this gender, and want to lose this much every week." If you told mfp that you wanted to lose 2 lb every week, that costs 7000 calories. 7000 calories divided by 7 days is 1000 calories per day. 1000 calories per day is 1000 calories below your maintenance NEAT. Your maintenance NEAT is 2550, which makes good sense if you are overweight. However, 2 lb is more than 1% of your body weight. If you calculate 1% of your body weight as your weekly weight loss goal, then adjust that for myfitnesspal, it will adjust your calorie target accordingly.

MFP calculates calorie target from sex, age, height, weight, activity level (outside exercise) and weight loss rate.

You'll have to set your diary to public if you want us to be able to access it. Settings > Diary Settings > Public

So do i needto log each swim? And each horse ride? Or a 30min dog walk? This adds more calories?

The options are to set your activity level to sedentary and do just that, or set it to a level you "guess" would cover all those calories. Most accurate is the first way.

Yes. Log your workouts and MFP will give you extra calories to eat because the workout burned more then your sedentary setting. Then eat back at least half of those calories and see how you're doing in 4 weeks. Adjust the percentage you eat back as needed.
