Does anyone have any supplements they like to take daily? I mean like fish oil, multivitamins, etc. I was thinking of taking melatonin because I really have trouble falling asleep at night

There are a few I take regularly:
- 1 fish oil
- 1 multi (Kirkland)
- magnesium (usually just 200mg a couple times a week)
- prebiotics (for IBS stuff)
- probiotics (for IBS stuff)
- vitamin C and vitamin D on occasion
I take melatonin once and a while.2 -
Multi because my diet sucks
Caffeine because, well, because caffeine
Whey protein to give me a bit more leeway with the foods I choose
Advil because I'm old and broken
Magnesium as a sleep aid4 -
I contemplated melatonin, but then I bought glasses with red lenses, and that seemed to work. To be honest, I had trouble sleeping because I had so many things I wanted to think about instead of sleeping. But using the glasses forced me to relax, and the end result was wonderful - I don't sleep during the day anymore, I feel completely rested, I have more energy.5

I have fish oil and multi's but I have yet to start taking them even though I should. The multivitamins I have are massive and have a horrible taste to them which is rather off putting. Still I shouldn't have any excuses.1

I take:
Multivitamin (Centrum Silver 50+)
Calcium with Vit D (650mg/400iu)
Alterra Neuromega Omega 3 (treatment for post-concussion syndrome)
Magnesium Citrate1 -
Nothing. I eat well, including fish several times per week.
I’m perimenopausal and live in a northern region with a long winter, so I should take some vitamin D now and then, but I think the vitamin industry is non-regulated, a bit of a scam and unnecessary for many people. That said, there are times when supplements are helpful (periconceptional folic acid for women, iron/B12 for some, and many other situations...).2 -
Magnesium for sleep
1 Brazil nut/week
4 almonds/day
Vitamin d in winter1 -
The only thing that came back low on my last round of tests was my vit d so I supplement for that.1

I don't really "like" to take any pills, but i do take a couple. Vit. D3, because my doctor recommended it that i take it. A multivitamin twice a week, since i eat pretty healthy. Magnesium occasionally. I prefer to get fish oil from fish.
Why do you ask?I’m perimenopausal and live in a northern region with a long winter, so I should take some vitamin D now and then, but I think the vitamin industry is non-regulated
That's why i look for supplements tested by an independent lab, particularly USP or NSF. Their websites list the supplements they've verified.1 -
I take B vitamins (mthfr), magnesium (migraine), and D (not a lot of sun here at the moment).1
