ATTENTION RUNNERS

I am in desperate need of some headphone recommendations! My Apple ones are done for and don't even stay in my ears. I need something that will stay in on any terrain and during long run as well as intervals. Any suggestions? Thanks!

no idea I still use my apple ones... do skull candys work? I would like to know the answer too because I hate how the apple ones tangle up.

any type of ear buds! most come with 3 sizes of rubber ear buds that you can change to fit your ears and they never fall out.

I liked my Apple ones a whole lot more than the Skull Candy ones I got. I'm not a huge fan of earbuds to begin with but even though the Skull Candy's come with different sized rubber pieces, they still don't stay put in my ear while I run and drive me nuts. My next purchase will be a pair of ear buds with the over the ear piece. May look silly, but I predict they stay in my head a whole lot better!

I got a nice pair of Ozones from Wal Mart. They are cushiony and come with different sizes of ear bud covers.I have not had them fall out or shift at all so far, and I run an average of 7-8 per day . Good Luck=-):flowerforyou:

I use skull candys ear buds. They come with 3 different buds, so that you can adjust them to the size you need, so they stay in! They work perfectly for me!

I have Auria headphones because they let me hear the sounds around me as well which is super important if you're running outside and near roads! I got the Exceed model. Check out Amazon for good deals on them. (They also stay in well and have several rings so you can adjust the size)

Go see an audiologist and purchase and request earplugs for iPods. (Audiologists are hearing specialists (my wife is one) who deal mainly with hearing and balance, and hearing aids, but can make other ear-related specialty items.) These earplugs are custom designed to fit your earbuds into YOUR ears. This is not cheap (around $75) but this is the ballpark price for good quality headphones and would be a one-time expenditure if you can afford it.

none of those ear bud headphones work for me when I run...they just keep popping out, which is extremely annoying and distracting. I bought a pair of JVC that wrap around the ear and I LOVE them! I've had them for about 2 years now and they have never fallen out, even when running on rough terrain. Plus, you can still hear the noises around you.

I sweat like a beast.... I use these sennheiser / Adidas ear buds because they resist the sweat very well.

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sennheiser+-+Adidas+Earfit+Sound+Isolating+In+Ear+Headphones/9661379.p?id=1218140271242&skuId=9661379&st=adidas&cp=1&lp=3

And I found this site which sells ear buds that REALLY stay in your ears.

The set up is a bit pricey, but your earphone problems will be solved forever.

I've tried the Apple ones, Skullcandy ones, and some other random junk ones. Just bought these Philips that work really well:

I've given up on normal earbud headphones, either the wires jerk them out or they just fall out anyway. If you have smaller ears try Denon, as they make extra-small earbuds and are worth a go.

My OH bought me a Sony MP3 player ages ago and it came with bluetooth headphones (quite good ones) so now I've just loaded some of my music onto my phone, and just use the bluetooth connection. They're not earbud style, they sit on top of the ear - these are the ones:

Although they're coming up as not available I'm sure there are similar ones out there. It's amazing the difference it makes not having wires trailing round all over the place. It also allows me to use Runkeeper at the same time rather than lugging round a phone and then an iPod as well!

I use the ipod on my iPhone, and I just put it on speaker, so I don't deal with earplugs at all. I wear my iPhone on my armband, and put it in upsideown (so the speakers are aimed toward my head.) This has worked out really well for me.... just something to try if you have that option on your mp3 player.

Yurbuds!!!! I cannot say enough good things. I have teeny ears and could NEVER run with ear buds until I found these. They are awesome. I've run pretty long distances with them (can't remember if I got them before or after my marathon, but I know I've run at least 10 miles with them at a pop if not 26.2) and have never, ever had one fall out.

ETA: They are also pretty inexpensive. I LOVE them!

Thanks for the suggestions! After my run this morning I was going to come to you all and ask the same question since I am constantly pushing them back into my ears as they slide out from the sweat!
