Hi, yes I did the Keto diet last year for four weeks and lost over a stone, sadly piled it back on over xmas and new year. So I’ve picked myself up and starting this again.0

I went keto last year for 2.5 months & dropped 24 pds.. then I fell off the wagon. I've restarted a month ago & am already down another 9 pds, determined to stick with it until I achieve my goal this time.
If you're just starting out, I'd suggest keeping it simple: bacon & eggs are your friends! Roast chicken [or chicken thighs] & a big salad full of leafy greens, add some raw cabbage, spinach or watercress, avocado & whatever other low carb veggies you like [just watch the carbs] - a good vinegar/[olive] oil, ranch or blue cheese dressing are your best choices. If you want a burger, great! Make it a cheeseburger w/ a lettuce wrap which works well enough when going bunless. Chicken wings/drummys - buffalo, tandoori, lemon pepper or plain ole salt & pepper.. they're all good! Use GOOD fats when cooking or in your salad dressings: olive oil, coconut oil, butter or avocado oil. If eating out, go for the rib eye steak, salmon, or any good fatty protein & pair it with their veggies: zucchini is good, as is broccoli, or cole slaw & a salad. Mixed veggies are fine too, but again - watch the carbs. Salmon, coated w mayo, lemon pepper & garlic is wonderful baked - with a side of mixed veggies: zucchini, squash, broccoli & a 'little carrot'.. all of course, with butter! And lets not forget about replacing mashed potatoes.. cauliflower mash is a great substitute. In fact, we don't even miss mashed potatoes now that I've got the technique down. Roasted brussel sprouts w bacon are another great side dish, and romaine lettuce leaves make great 'wraps' for tacos, chicken or beef kabobs or tuna salad.
I hope this helps, I know when you're just starting, it can be confusing but stick with it. I noted that someone posted a FB group above, be sure to check it out.. & know there are lots of them out there. Best wishes on your journey!5
