I really want to lose weight but I don't have the motivation to get up and exercise. I tend to eat healthy but the drive to lose weight isn't there. Last year I lost a bit of weight but have since gained it all back and more. I would appreciate any help / advice on what to do to get the motivation needed to lose the weight and feel better.

We all want to lose weight. Don't sit around waiting for motivation. Stop focusing on drive to lose weight, stop exercising to lose weight, stop eating healthy to lose weight. You lose weight when you eat less - for real, consistently, and for a long time. If you log your food intake in your food diary, accurately and honestly - and you have set up your account to weightloss - you lose weight.

I struggle also with motivation. So I try not to focus on “being motivated”. Instead I try to focus on doing the things I know I need to do- namely, making good choices and logging, and trying to stay under my calories. When motivation isn’t there, at least I CAN do those things. I don’t think about “I need to do his because....” in those times. I just thinks about “Right, what fits into my calories for today?”

I’ve read so many threads about struggling with motivation. It’s not easy.
So try to focus on what you can do today, instead of the bigger picture.

All you have to do is start doing it. That's it. If you can force yourself to put on your running shoes or sit down on that bike, you're half way there

Last word of advice - don't try hard, work smart. Figure out what you need to do, and do that, nothing more, nothing less.

I will try to do so. It may be a little more difficult for me due to having a slow metabolism but I will do my best to conquer this and lose the weight, hopefully once and for all.

You metabolism is most likely fine. Set weightloss rate to no more than 1% of your bodyweight, and aim to hit your calorie target every day. Log food intake correctly and weigh yourself regularly, and I bet that over time you'll see a loss very close to the expected rate.

My metabolism is slow due to thyroid problems. I will definitely start doing that.
