That is a good idea! I think I will adopt that mindset! haha0 -
I am trying to lose 20 more lbs by my anniversary in may0

I guess you can call mine a mini goal. My mini goal is to lose 10% of my total body weight. You are able to see and feel the difference by doing this. So in order for me to lose that 10% the mini goals are to lose 1-2 lbs per week.
Once I reach 10% I will evaluate my eating and excersice habits and see if anything needs to be modified. Mostly likely it will because the body is always fighting with your metabolism.
I started on 1/20/09 at 214 lbs
Today 2/11/2009 I weigh 207 lbs
10% of my body weight is 21 lbs
Mini goal would be 193 lbs
Goal weight 160 lbs

I have mini goals with prizes (besides the obvious health prizes) for each 10 pounds I also added 25 and 75 because I think those are big deals too.
I've already gotten my new dvd, and new make up. My next prize in one pound is a digital food scale.0 -
I do 10 pound mini goals, but never set dates for them. I just always know that I'm working to get to that next "9". Right now I'm trying to get to that 159. After I reach that I'm working on the 149.0

I too have a mini goal of losing 10% of my body weight. That would be 19 lbs.
I may have to have surgery this year so I want to lose as much weight as possible prior to that. It will be abdominal surgery and I know that I won't be very mobile afterwards. I want to make sure that I am well on my way to weighing 150 lbs by September 19th!0 -
I just want to fit into my wedding ring again lol0

My prizes are in intervals of 5lbs! Last week I met the 155 mark, and I was going to treat myself to flowers, but I got some that same day for my birthday, so I thought I'd buy a new Wii Fit game, but my BF got me that for my birthday, so I got a new haircut! haha
For the next 5 lbs, which is only 4 away now, It's a Polfa F6 watch!
145, probably another wii game
140, Night in a fancy hotel suite
135, finally half of my former self, my tummy tuck!!0 -
Yes. Below my ticker is mine. I don't have a date for these mini goals though. I'm just taking it as it comes.0

artschool girl, WOW! I saw your before and after. You look 20 years younger! It's amazing to see how weight can make a person look older than what they are.
Congrats to you! :drinker:0 -
:blushing: Thanks so much! The sad thing is, 20 years younger & I just turned 23! haha I get it all the time, people think that was my mom!0

Yes I recently set some mini goals for myself. When I first started my weight loss, my first goal was to lose 20 pounds by my friends wedding in which I was maid of honor. I did great and met the goal....but since then it has been harder to keep at it. So I set new goals. I am walking in a 5K or 10K (haven't decided which yet) on April 4th so I want to lose 10 pounds by then, then I want to lose another 4 by my 30th birthday in May, I want to lose another 12 by me and my boyfriends 2nd anniversary in July and then be at my goal weight by halloween.
I have found that the mini goals definitely help me stack on track better, because thinking of the 38 pounds I want to lose between now and October can seem very daunting at times.0 -
I set up ticker to 10 pound increments. Each 10 I celebrate (here with y'all~) and reset my goal weight for another 10 pounds. I am 2-3 pounds away from 30 and only 5 away from my orig goal of 135!!!
Of course the scale has stopped. I feel like I am in a Twighlight Zone episode!!

Yes, I do a after pic every 5lbs lost.......my goal is 5lbs a week, happy with 1!0

My goal is to not smash my scale into a million pieces because it's Schizophrenic readouts are REALLY making me miserable.0

Yes I have mini goals.
My starting weight Jan 1st was 242 & I now weigh 227 so I lost 15lbs in 5 short weeks!
My next mini goal is to be under 220lbs. I'd like to see that happen by the end of Feb.. but we'll see what happens!
Overall my huge goal is to be under or at 150 by christmas! Thats my ultimate goal weight!0 -
I don't think very far ahead because I don't want to fail. Before I joined here, I always thought of the bigger picture and now I just set the mini-goal of 3 pounds a week. I just started on Jan the 5th and I have lost 14 pounds so I'm doing pretty well! :drinker:0

I just want to be down to my GW by September for my 12 year anniversary.0
