Do you pick the right items from the database? Items are user entered and are wrong a lot of the time.

Unless you have a medical reason to watch your intake of either, I wouldn't worry about them. Sodium you can cut down by cooking more of your own meals.

Don't track sodium an cholesterol. If you need to limit them, your doctor should have told you what to eat.

Another vote for not bothering to track them, unless medically necessary.

And please understand that a 5 lb weight loss after 1 week will not be typical of what you lose long term. Depending on your stats and how much you have to lose, you should not be targeting more than 1-2 lbs per week loss.

What has (probably) happened is you cut down on carbs in the first week, which lead to a big water weight loss and not a fat loss of 5 lbs.

Have a read here https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10084670/it-is-unlikely-that-you-will-lose-weight-consistently-i-e-weight-loss-is-not-linear to understand what will happen and don't be surprised or upset if you don't lose, or in fact gain, next week.

    Good luck.

If you're eating processed foods (even the "healthy" stuff) it's likely processed with salt. And that is if they're inputted correctly on MFP. But honestly, as long as you're not severely over the recommended, I wouldn't put too much thought into it if it's here and there.
