Hello everyone reading this,
Just started MFP (after a really long time - successful weight loss 2 years ago), and I only need to lose about half a stone. I am 1200 calories per day and really struggling to stay on target. I go gym 4 or 5 days and accumulate calories there, so its a bit better, but I am very disappointed to see after 2 weeks dieting (and being good!) that I only lost 1/2 pound....guess my portion control and calorie counting is way off?? If I hadnt used MFP before, I would think it wasnt for me, but since I have and very successfully, know its me. I use 350-400 calories for breakfast, and try to have a lunch that equals total consumption of calories no more than 700 by evening meal, leaving me 500 for that and anything else. Would appreciate some advice, thanks in anticipation.

How do you know you burn so many calories in the gym? You're eating 1550-1600kcal in a day. That would be maintenance calories for me, and considering you only want to lose a tiny bit it's possible that you're just eating below maintenance.
Other than that: you know the routine: Are you using a food scale? With so little to lose it's very easy to get over.
And finally: you only have a little to lose. It will be slow.0 -
HI, thanks for reply, I use machines with calorie information displayed and then use MFP for calorie calculation. Have always applied this way. Yes, I use food scale, and guess you are right about it being slow.0

BTW.. not eating 1550-1600 per day, hovering around my total allowed.. (350-400 breakfast, lunch 300-400, 4-500 evening meal)0

Hard to give advice when your diary isn't public as that's where the problem(s) can most likely be found.
Telling people your stats would also give context.
Two weeks also isn't a lot of data to go on - especially for a woman who might have monthly weight fluctuations that can mask a trend.0 -
You don't have sufficient fat reserves to lose any faster than 1/2 pound per week, and daily water weight fluctuations can be way bigger than that. The cure: Appropriate calorie target, realistic expectations, meticulous logging, patience.1

Look at other metrics beyond the scale: measurements, before pictures, clothing fitting differently, progress pictures, . . .1
