Seriously, I have worked out at the gym for two weeks straight weight lifting and doing cardio for about and hour and 15 minutes every day, but it doesn't even compared to the feeling I have today after doing wii fit for an hour last night! My entire body is sore! My abs, my back , my butt, my arms- everything! And I had so much fun doing it too- I can't wait to go home and do it again! Its even more fun than the regular wii games! If you don't have one- go get one right now!! The yoga is amazing and the balance games rock....the strength training exercise will work muscles you didn't even know you had! Its all so fun and motivating that you don't even notice you've been playing for an hour!

Agreed! Hula-hooping for 10 minutes straight is insane!! And the running! I love when I finally pass that trainer, but that lil dog is impossible to chase! haha

    Keep up the good work!

Wow, that's cool to hear. I don't own one, but got the impression it wasn't a great workout after seeing the YouTube video which spoofed it.

My abs were so sore from the hula-hoops!! I did them for soooooo long! hahaha I love the jogging!
  • Oh, you aren't kidding about the hula hooping! I'm sure that's why my abs hurt so bad. I feel like an idiot when I do it because the wii is set up in my loft and the neighbors can see me through the window!

Just to weigh in so to speak

The Wii and especially the Wii Fit has been the BEST money we have spent in a long time.

So if any of you are on the fence - look at the comments.

Good Value and best of all for me Good Fun.

  • Oh, they must have been lying. You should go somewhere to try it out if you're worried about it not being a good workout...you will be convinced otherwise within minutes!

I think my favorite feature though is having an accurate scale & being able to track my progress & BMI! It's super encouraging! I think that was worth the money right there!
  • i love my wii fit! yoga is my favorite

Even my DDs (12 and 9) love the Wii fit. My oldest gets a kick out of beating my DH and my high scores.

Nothing beats it for balance and core exercises..

That is so true! I have 2 scales that both tell me totally different numbers every time I step on them- but the wii fit is always consistent. After I worked out last night- I lost .7 pounds!
  • :flowerforyou: I agree! I love my WII fit. It unlocks different workouts the longer you use it. I unlocked the free step. So, I can step for an hour while I watch my favorite TV show at night! I also love the boxing.

Love my Wii too! I've made Mii/profiles of most of my friends. I find it fun to "run" and pass by and wave "hi". Probably would be better to actually run with my friends, but hey, it's winter and coordinating daily schedules isn't feasible.

I find it gratifying to challenge previous activity results, especially BALANCE. The yoga kicks my butt, trying to keep that red dot in the middle!! Keeping the center of gravity/balance while in motion has changed the way I exercise, I tend to keep my weight on my heels. What a difference I feel in my body alignment while running, now that I know what my center of gravity feels like. My back feels great!

What's your Wii fit age? (Read/voice, "what's in YOUR wallet" commercial).

    Cheers!

That made me laugh out loud that your neighbors can see you hula hooping. Yah, silly huh?! It's even worse if you are not wearing much. Hee hee.

I love my wii fit as well, haven't used it much lately as i have been going on the treadmill mostly lately. Ky kids love it as well. I just wish it told you how many calories you burn with it, that is one of the reason's i have been running on my treadmill more.
  • I had no idea there was such a thing...a computer exercise game?! OMG...I must try to pay attention to new technologies...this sounds like just the thing I need...Thank you for the posts! :drinker:

I'm sure that maintaining my balance, while swinging my hips in circles, AND looking over my shoulder to make sure no one's watching - is really doing a number on my abs! And as for not wearing much while I'm doing it- yeah right!

Maybe you could just do it 3 times a week after the treadmill for strengthening excerises? Nothing beats the feeling of tight sore abs!

that is an idea, but as soon as i get off the treadmill i have to have a shower, way too sweaty and i also go on it when my yougest is napping, that way i can get a shower ina and get my hair and makeup done before he wakes up.

What exercise do you do that you are working your abs on it that much? I haven't had that happen on any of the exercises yet?

The hula hooping and there's also the following strength training exercises: jackknife and pushup with side plank:smile:
