Turning to MFP after Frustrations with WW Freestyle

Hello All,
I used MFP years ago in an attempt to be healthy and lose weight, but I didn't stick with it. Then a year ago I tried out Weight Watchers. I really liked the Smartpoints program and lost almost 20 pounds on it before my wedding.
After the wedding I relaxed for a bit until returning to WW. I gave Freestyle a chance for at least six weeks and I just couldn't stand it. I would be down .4 one week, up 1.2 the next, etc. I wasn't eating enough protein and the zero point foods are all so boring for a vegetarian like me. I felt the need for more accurate data. It's been one week on MFP and I've finally lost a whole pound! I don't feel gassy or bloated all the time and I finally feel like I'm back on track. I need some "friends" for motivation though--one thing I do like about WW is the Connect feature on their app and how easy it is to share with others.

You're the 3rd or 4th WW refugee I've seen today! The new program must be really bad I've posted these threads a couple of other places today. You might find them helpful. Welcome to MFP!

I am still with the new Freestyle plan - I am using it to compare macros that you can adjust here. I don't agree that the food are "free" I am such a believer in if you bite it, write it. I will most likely make a transition to here by the month's end.

Thank you @pinuplove for the links! I think the 0 point foods were a nice idea, but really, what was working for me about WW before Freestyle was the even 30 points a day I got. That would almost always amount to around 1200 calories a day not including 0 point fruits and vegetables. It was flexible without being too loose.0

Hi! I just quit WW also bc of Freestyle. They took away Smartpoints which worked well for me. I was so mad I couldn't see paying for a program that didn't work. So glad MFP has a barcode. I have to get used to counting calories again as opposed to points. Please feel free to add me as a friend0
