Accidental Vegan - loosing it and loving it!

Hello!
I’m Lena, overweight since teens and the same old boring routine of trying everything....
After watching cowspiricy 6 months ago I was moved to try eating a plant based diet as a bit of a personal challenge. I set myself a goal of a month and went (pardon the pun) cold turkey.
At first it was a bit rough as I wasn’t prepared I leaned heavily on refined carbs, and put on a kilo or so. But I slowly got in to my groove and really enjoyed it. So much so as the end of the month approached I didn’t really feel like giving it up. We were about to go on a 3 week once in a life time family holiday so it was crappy timing but something just made me want to continue. I decided if I slipped so what, but where I could i would continue.
So the holiday passed without a blip and no big impact on the family, then came Christmas etc and again challenges (fun ones) were conquered.
6 months later I’m down 11ish kilos without trying to lose weight, I feel sooooo much better, indeed so much so I find myself wanting to make better choices, do exercises, make an effort. My husband almost passed out when I voluntarily suggested a walk, normally I’d wriggle out if I could.
I’ve a long way to go, but this really does feel right for me. It’s not for everyone, but we’ve all read “it’s not about being on a diet it’s about changing your lifestyle bla bla bla” well it turns out it’s true!
When people ask what I can’t eat I bore them with all the things I do and love to eat, thankfully I have wonderful friends who have made adjustments to accommodate me, but mainly I just eat whatever I fancy and leave what I don’t.
Gosh..... that was a lot longer than I intended!
So in short - hello! I’m lena an accidental plant based eater
