Accountability!

Hi all!
I’ve been on and off MFP for several years. I’ve never kept up with the commitment of creating a healthier lifestyle. What are some ways you make yourself more accountable to track and stay consistent? I know I suffer from not admitting to when I fall off the wagon because “I’ll make up for it tomorrow.”
Thanks in advance for your advice...and sorry if I did the blog thing wrong. I’ve never posted before and though this may be a start to keep on track.

One of my go-to tricks is to have an event that I am getting ready for. I’m not sure what your into but I could be something as simple as a fun run or 5k....but have something that you’ve paid for and is on the calendar always boosts my accountability by leaps and bounds.
Hope that helps!3 -
I think it was easier AFTER I lost a few pounds. That number on the scale really motivates me. I've never been able to stick with losing weight until this "one last try". I'm like you where I make excuses and always have tomorrow to un-do what I do today. Frankly, I just had it with myself. I weighed in at my highest weight ever, and that was it for me. I needed and wanted a change. I saw 4lbs go the first week (all water weight probably), and that was my motivation for the following week, etc. Good luck to you. I hope that you can find something to keep you on track. It's really hard.

I think j3 is right by setting activity goals to keep yourself on track. I am going to be riding 140 mile Death Ride in July. You can do it.1
