Hi, I’ve been on Slimming World for six months and I’ve lost 3st 7lbs, but I’ve still got a further 2st 7lbs to go. I’m sure we can support each other.

Great I need the support, I just can’t seem to stick to it for longer than a couple of weeks

If you can't stick to it, it's probably not for you, weight loss will only be successful if you have a sustainable plan. The problem for most of us when we can't stick to a weightloss plan is we over-complicate it.

To lose weight only one thing is important, that you simply create a calorie deficit. Make small changes to your normal way of eating that you can live with long term and it will be a whole lot easier to accomplish than going all-or-nothing.

    Some small change examples:

    >Eating smaller portions of calorie dense foods and bulking out meals with something less calorific, for example instead of having a Steak with a pile of chips, you still have the steak and some chips, but you have a smaller portion of chips and make the rest of the plate up with salad or veg.

    > Substituting higher calorie items for lower calorie items, for example swapping from full fat milk to low fat milk.

    > being more mindful of empty calories for example switching from drinking soda to water/diet soda/tea or using lower calorie condiments

    > changing cooking methods for example using spray oil for things like roast potatoes instead of free pouring oil or grilling/baking instead of frying.

None of these are particularly dramatic changes but they add up.
