Working out

What do you do? I can't afford the gym but would love to lose some weight. Especially in the tummy area and arms and to build a booty. Any tips?

Losing weight comes from a calorie deficit, no working out required. We also can't spot reduce where fast comes off. How much are you trying to lose?0

Losing weight is 90% nutrition 10% exercise. Cut back on your carb macros, eat at a deficit, and with no gym buy some dumb bells and walk. Build a body means heavy lifting to me and you really cannot target body areas on weight loss.0

Calorie deficit0 -
As others have said, (moderate) calorie deficit is most important part.
Also, there are lots of different bodyweight exercises you can do at home, YouTube is full of how-to videos about those.
While I'm not a fan of all the cardio craze, if you want to increase your calorie burn a bit, then both walking and running are free, and fresh air is always good for you.
Perhaps bit off topic, but as far as people saying "I can't afford to go to the gym" goes, different places have different options, but odds are that there might be an affordable yet decent eboght gym somewhere not too far away.
And from my own experience, since I decided to lose weight and started to eat better, the amount of money I save on food each month compared to past is definitely way bigger than my gym bill.
Getting new smaller clothes as I kept shrinking was way bigger expense0 -
Losing weight and building a booty are typically conflicting goals. And as mentioned you can't spot reduce fat.
If you have weight to lose, focus on eating in a calorie deficit, lift weights to preserve the booty you have (and maybe build a little).. there are many bodyweight programs you can do at home. Also get adequate protein and be patient.2 -
Calorie deficit is king. But I work out in my basement (strength training and glider) and take long walks for fitness/extra calories.0

I don't want to build muscle anywhere (apart from my booty eventually) but I really want to loose some fat. I would love to lose 1 1/2 -2 stone. I thought cardio was the best way to do this0

most people think that and are wrong. Cardio helps, and has tons of other benefits, but nothinng beats managing your eating habits. Look up intermittent fasting as an option - chat with the other folks here about what works for them.

Cardio is great for health, fitness, if you enjoy it, adding to your calorie deficit. Lifting is going to help you preserve muscle as you lose. If you do just cardio you may not be as happy with your body composition when you get to goal.
Ultimately though you need to be in a deficit to lose weight. That's it.
I wouldn't worry too much about building muscle anywhere accidentally.. I'm on my third bulk cycle here.. eating in a surplus and training like a beast, and muscle gain is still super slow.
ETA look into a program like Strong Curves, it has focus on the booty and there is a bodyweight/at home workout0 -
Thank you all for the comments. I will keep with cardio and bodyweight and keep watching my diet0

you may not want to build muscle, but you also wont want to lose any if you can avoid it - which you can by eating adequate protein and doing some strength/resistance training.0
