I lost 30 lbs the first time(2013), and sitting right at 24lbs lost this go-around. Unfortunately, I gained alot of my weight back after a motorcycle accident in 2014. Knee surgery, no food diary and my love for craft beer caused me to gain all my weight back over 18 months - and then some. But I'm finally back on track.

For me... I've tried to eliminate all refined sugar. Not that it makes me actually gain weight, as much as it triggers my hunger impulses- once I have sugar I get severe munchies. I attribute it to blood sugar irregularities. To make it easier, I just stay away from it. I also do my best to limit my bread, white rice and pasta. Doesn't mean I don't have them, I just watch my portions very closely (Instead of two slices of wheat toast with breakfast, I will have one). I've eliminated beer.

My go-to's: Hard boiled eggs, almonds, Greek yogurt, Dymatize protein shakes, limited cheese, avocado. Plain old Irish oats for breakfast (no sugar). All work great for my satiety and hunger impulses. I'm rarely hungry...

You just have to find those tweaks that work for your body and experiment some. Everyone is different. One thing I've learned, I have to keep a food diary - it keeps me on track. I cannot freestyle my daily intake - stuff adds up quickly.

I am fairly new to low carb, I've been trying to do a piece of fruit (or veg) with a bit of protein for snacks. Apple with peanut or almond butter, orange and a mozzarella cheese stick, carrots and hummus, a pear with a few pecans...it's been working pretty well so far.
