Dilemma

Problem 1: eating 1500 calories a day and can't lose I've been maintaining for 3 weeks now. I get anywhere from 10,000 to 14,000 steps a day at work.
Problem 2: really can't do anymore exercise then that due to facitis in my feet. Please help, trying to lose 25 pounds that I've gained.
Can or should I go lower in calories? I'm 5'3 and weigh 159 pounds.

do you weigh your food?
given your stats and activity level, 1500 sounds like it should be a deficit?5 -
If you’re weighing your food and logging accurately, you just need to give it time. As often said here, weight loss is not linear.
I have plantar fasciitis too. That’s a lot of steps for someone with foot pain! I can’t get above 10k without a lot of pain. However, I can do strength training, biking, and the elliptical without much problem. Experiment a bit to find what works. Good luck!4 -
As others have asked already, do you weigh your food?
While exercise helps create more of a calorie deficit, eating less than we burn leads to weight loss.
However if its only been 3 weeks since you started its early days and lots of things can mask weight loss, as in TOM, new exercise, high sodium meals etc. You should be losing eating 1500 calories a day.2 -
You should already be losing. Confirm the accuracy of your logging. Theoretically you could probably drop another couple of hundred calories vs. your target and not be in bad shape but to be honest the difference would be small enough not to make a noticeable difference vs. your larger trend (200 calories a day is something like 1.5 pounds per month)...
If you want to exercise but are limited in your ability to walk/run, have you looked into swimming, rowing, or other low impact cardio (elliptical, etc.)?2 -
Thank you to all who replied, I'm gonna try weighing and messuring my food also if my foot allows me after work I'll try the elliptical machine to add a boost of exercise.2

To be honest with you if you're nutrition is good and you weigh your food you will lose weight without working out at all. But working out will help you look better as you lose weight. Good luck!1 -
