For an anniversary, I wrote down the reasons that I loved my (ex)boyfriend on pieces of paper, as many reasons as days we had been together...

I'm so corny it hurts sometimes.

Well my now husband of 9 1/2 years proposed in a note. It read "Will you marry me?" Check yes or no and there were little boxes next to YES and NO. It's framed in my bedroom. It's so corny and that's what really makes it special.

By any chance, was the George Strait song Check Yes or No your wedding song? Sorry, I coujldn't pass up asking this question.

Short and to the point version.
Candles on the back porch with a couple of comfy chairs, made chocolate covered fruits, served with her favorite chilled vino and gave her a back rub and foot massage ...

That's the first one that came to mind anyway.

Man, I was too good for her ...

I'm into practical romance. Screw the flowers and making rash decisions based on love.

My husband appreciates the hell out of me when I remember to wash his bike clothes in the middle of the week, just in case he wants to go on an extra unplanned ride.

And I love coming home to the dishes done. I'm normally the one that does them.

We've been together for about 7 years. It shows we still love and appreciate one another.

This is the stuff that gives me warm fuzzies. We've never done anything wild and crazy and rash in our relationship. But, those warm fuzzies sure lead to some wild and crazy times when we're alone! :blushing:

    He waited...

My DH says he knew I was 'the one' the moment he saw me- even though I was dating someone else and definitely not interested. He stubbornly held onto that and chose not to date other girls (for nearly a year) despite the fact that I had moved in with and became engaged to that other guy. He says he wasn't even that worried. :P

Married 11 years- I guess he was right!

LOL no actually Check Yes or No wasn't our song! That makes it even funnier I suppose. He says he was just terrified I'd say no and couldn't speak. Even though we'd already talked about it, silly man! I was 19 and he was 25 when we got married :D We're still those oooy gooy lovey dovey people ;)

while she was in the shower for my birthday i turned all the lights off, spread rose petals on floor and bed, lit tea lights that lead to the middle of the room where there was a circle of petals where i had her favorite slow song playing and we danced for like half hour to one song on repeat .... man and that was my birthday ... lol

Long ago before we were married, took my wife out for dinner on Valentine's Day. Had a friend with a private plane fly us to an airport in the bay area where we could taxi right up to the front of the restaurant, climb out of the plane & dine. Great night.
  • I think the most romantic thing my husband did was 3 years ago. He wrote in to a radio station, they were doing a Valentines Day Wedding Renewal giveaway and going to select 50 lucky couples to renew their vows on Valentines Day at Stone Mountain. Well he secretly wrote a letter about why he loved me and why he thought this would be special. He then surprised me on Valentines Day with a trip to Stone Mountain, where he told me why we were really there. We renewed our vows in the snow at Stone Mountain surrounded by couples of all ages. It was awesome and I loved it.

I surprised my then fiance with a Vegas wedding after repeatedly telling him that we were not going to get married there! Got a dress (and made my veil to match), got him a tux, got rings, flowers, the whole nine yards. A friend flew in to witness for us. What sucked is that both of our families knew about it, but no one was able to come.

This was for my EX soo idk how good it actually worked...lol... But we were together a year.

One night while we were still kinda getting to know one another, before we were "official", I set up a date night where he could learn more about me & what I like to do.
So we cooked together which was a lot of fun.
Then I changed into something a little more comfortable & brought him upstairs. I had a huge canvas, paints, candles & wine. I love art so I thought we would make a painting together. It was very sexy & tons of fun. Ended up with paint on us... Everywhere... Good times!

Can't say I've had a stand out romantic evening that a man has planned.... Booooo.....

My ex and I worked together at the same job. So, for his birthday, I sent him on a scavenger hunt. I wrote little rhyming clues about different people that we worked with and placed them in an envelope with his favorite chocolates. Each person held the clue until he came looking for them. The last clue gave him the destination where I had set up a moonlight picnic. He loved it! Been nice if he had done something like that for me, just once.

My favorite romantic moments all have a funny twist...

Like the time my now-husband proposed for the second time (we had broken up for a while) and we were on a lovely bridge, looking at the water, and he said, "Oh look, otters!" The "otters" were the biggest RATS I'd ever seen.

Or the time he had taken me out to dinner and a movie for my birthday, and when we got home and started doing business, we discovered that lobster makes me perform some amazing feats of flatulence.

And our first Christmas together. I am a notoriously bad gift-giver, and we hadn't been together that long so I didn't know what to get him, and I had no money. He wrote me a beautiful poem, gave me a necklace and one of my favorite art prints. I gave him... *drum roll*... a new pillow and a movie. (Yes, I've gotten much better at the gifts over the years. Unfortunately, so has he, so he still always outdoes me.)

He carved our names in a tree at our favorite camping spot. I normally would freak out if I saw someone doing that (I'm a bit of a tree hugger) but he surprised me with it and it was the sweetest thing he has ever done.
