Hi Kyle, I don't know about anyone else, but for me I just take one day at a time and keep my eye on the prize. I've always been told anything worth having in this life you got to work for, so I work hard at keeping focused and realize that if not today then someday I will be at the weight I want to be at. I think you have to focus on your inner beauty since you are feeling shamed of your outer. Learn to love yourself for who you are and not what you look like at the moment, and remember that if you don't like what you see that you are the only one who can change that.0

The doubt will do you in. Cornerstone of discipline is belief in your program. So first look at your numbers. If I read your post right, it’s working. Please don’t answer back and say it’s too slow. There is no too slow. It’s working. The numbers are there in your post, but your brain is trying to tell you it’s not real. There’s something about weight loss and people refusing to recognize success when it is happening. Keep going.
Motivation is fleeting. Work on maintaining good habits. They will see you through the rough spots. But good habits need to be defended and preserved.
The best habit to have is a food diary. Never give up on your diary. Record everyday. Anyone can record their good days. You need to record them all. Never quit.5 -

Don't focus on keeping motivation high. Focus on learning what you need to do to reach your goals, and building and strengthening good habits. Good habits are both healthy and attainable. The amount of discipline you need to stick to good habits, is quite small, but enough to build confidence. Confidence will make you feel and look great, regardless of body weight.2

You've lost already so well done. So now you just have to keep on going.
If you feel deprived/hungry often and don't feel you can stick to it then the question would be, have you chosen too aggressive a calorie deficit i.e you have input your stats to lose 2lbs a week instead of say 1.5lb or 1lb.

The number one thing is to make sure you meet your macros... While staying within your calorie Your fat, your fiber, your protein. These are all extremely important in helping you feel satisfied and not deprived and not hungry.
Next is to be patient. Be patient with your body. Your weight loss is not going to be the same week to week. Some weeks I lose 2 pounds or more, other weeks I lose less than a pound. Sometimes I even stay the same.
Do not confuse water retention with weight gain or lack of weight loss. Your hormones are going to play a role in this whether you like it or not LOL. Water retention is the bane of my existence.0 -
Maybe this will help, maybe it won't, some of the reasons I used to yo-yo diet and binge in the past:
- Setting too aggressive a deficit - I always set myself to 2lbs per week with Sedentary activity which would give me just over 1200 calories. This was the incorrect activity level for me, even with a desk job I get 5000 steps per day in without even taking walking to/from work into account and I cannot sustain a big deficit without feeling exhausted and hungry. I have more or less stuck at it this time for over a year by setting myself the correct activity level and dropping my deficit down to 1lb per week.
- Believing all the shite in the media - don't eat this, don't eat that, don't eat after 5pm, blah blah blah. - it's all a load of rubbish, weight loss is straight forward, EAT LESS THAN YOU BURN the less complicated you make it, the easier it is to stick to.
- Following "Healthy" Meal Plans - living on chicken salad is not something I can or want to stick to, I have lost almost 3 stone enjoying pizza a couple of times a month, eating a variety of meals made up of foods I enjoy. Again this goes back to the straight forwardness of weight loss, it's all about maths. As long as you get good nutrition for your health and any fitness goals you don't have to eat in a certain way to lose weight.
- Freaking out over water weight fluctuations - I'd rage quit if I'd eaten "healthy" all week and then not see any loss or a gain on the scale, not realising that it's totally normal and that weight goes up and down every day. This time around I weigh daily and track my weight in Libra App to see what my overall trend is rather than focusing on the day-to-day datapoints.
- Punishing myself if I went over my calorie allowance - I'd end up in a binge-restrict cycle instead of just logging it, owning it and moving on. One meal/One day isn't the end of the world and when I realised this, it was soooo freeing!

Been struggling this week myself, good on my eatting but lacking motivation to work out, feeling pretty down this week and my focus is elsewhere. Still forcing myself to do it but hoping next week my mind will get back in the game and it won't feel like a chore.
Weather is getting nice here again so that motivation for me to keep going with mountain bike season on the way.0 -
I just tried to develop new habits. Sometimes I was motivated and sometimes I was not, but I’d act anyway. If I didn’t want to go to the gym, I put on my shoes and went anyway. I discovered I felt better afterwards. I added the Happy Scale app to my phone which was really helpful.2
