I have lost 19 pounds from 162 to 143. I am 5 foot 8 inches. The BMR on MFP says I should eat 1326 calories to maintain my weight. I would like to lose another 13 pounds. If I reduce my calories to 1200 I am only reducing by 126 calories. Really! It will take me a month to lose a pound. I am considering going under the 1200 calories. Your thoughts???

BMR is not the calories you need to eat to maintain. BMR is the calories you need to eat currently to perform basic daily functions like breathing, digestion, etc. Most people (even the most sedentary) need to multiply their BMR by 20% to see what they burn in a day before exercise...

Check out this website ... www.fat2fitradio.com/bmr they have an awesome podcast as well.

Thats right, BMR shows you how much calories you need to maintain and to live without moving a muscle, than you have to add your daily activity and than your exercise. So 1326 to maintain(live) + 300-500(daily activity(walking, moving around).

So if you burn 500 a day than youll lose a pound a day on 1326 cal
