i am new to this and being depressed i hope i can do it

So i am on vacation and i saw this and decided to start it while on vacation, it is easier here bc i am with my parents so they buy healthy food. when i am home i buy what i can afford so it will b e so hard when i get back. i am depressed as it is because my life is not what i wish it was and it is so hard to control my weight. i feel helpless and my job i work alot bc i need the money so to work out i sleep when ever i can. i dont sleep good at night as it is so i sleep when i can bt my working hours. please suggestions since i am babbling....

    Hello, welcome to the site. These past couple of weeks I've felt bad about not losing any weight and being stuck at a similar weight for a yr or two, but I lost 40 lb a couple years ago and realized that I have kept that off so that's a good thing.

    I like this site though, because I tend to nimble small bits of food throughout the day and now I can see the calories and sugar and have been surprised at some of the healthy food like honey or fruit and how many calories they are. So, hopefully this helps!

    I wish I had magic advice for you. What I can tell you is that you have to find happiness each day, like Oprah says, when you wake up in the morning, be thankful you are breathing. When I begin a workout that I may not want to do, I have to remember "at least I am mobile, I can take steps, my heart can pump fast". Just be thankful for small things and remember that you are worth it. You deserve happiness & a healthy body. Good luck on your journey!!

    i work a part time job at walmart and barely make past min wage i think if i can afford groceries you can too. I just buy every 2 weeks if i need lunch for work i make sure i know what im getting for the two weeks. For one person its really not alot of food because your just feeding yourself soo cook something that can last a few days i do that to i stretch what im buying.

    Welcome! It would be REALLY good you getting your sleep situation sorted out first, as this will help with your depression and weight loss. It would probably be better initially using the site to set up healthy eating habits first, as it seems like you have a lot happening in your life at the moment.     Just enjoy your vacation. And it may sound cliche, but just take it one day at a time...it can be too overwhelming to think of how far you have to go to get where you want to be. Just make small changes to get the ball rolling and find fun ways to motivate yourself.
  • i have a bf who will eat everything.. so it makes it hard so i go out alot but i will have to tell him to am serious and he has to respect this if not get lost.. lol.. and he claims i dont need to lose wieght.. but i tell him when i look at pictures from yearssss ago it makes me not feel good. and i deserve to feel good.

    Didn't mean to come off rude i reread that and it seemed rude so sorry. I'm not mean at all, but I understand it is hard but if you want to make yourself happy you got to. That might be a reason for your depression as well, I was like this myself until i decided to do something about it and not eatting my pain and sadness. Before i felt like a anchor being weighed down and it seems like every lbs i have worked so hard to lose has made me feel sooo much better about myself. It aint easy , and it will be rough but all you can do is think about the end and how you will feel. That is nothing But Awesomeness !!! Add me if you want support this site is great for that :-)
