I’m currently attempting to drop from the 123 to 114 weight class. I’m currently 8lbs over weight and I’m not sure when I should cut out my salt and carb intake for water loss. My weigh ins are March 2. So I have roughly ten days

Is there a reason why you need to drop to the 114 class?

It would allow me to be a state qualifier

Is this your first competition? Have you ever weighed 114 or less? Have you ever done a water cut before?

I’ve done water cuts about 3 times before. I’ve weighed close to 114 about 117 before. And I’ve been competing for 3 years

Ok, just wanted to make sure you weren't a newbie to water cuts before.

whenever I need to water cut prior to competition this is the protocol that I follow:

Adjust as necessary based on your experiences with previous water cuts. Hopefully you have a 24 hour weigh in so you can rehydrate adequately prior to competing.

I actually do use the same protocol. I’m just wondering on what my nutrition should look like before I start this protocol since I have a few days extra. Like should I already be cutting out my salt and carbs, normal intake, or increased intake.

You're 10 days out so you're not going to make much in the way of strength gains so I don't see any reason not to start decreasing carb intake now BUT that's going to depend on how high your carb intake has been over the past few months. Water and sodium manipulation typically starts 5-6 days out. Do you have a 24 hour weigh in? How much water weight have you been able to cut following the protocol previously?

Everything I was going to suggest has been addressed. Good luck with your cut and with your meet!

I have a 12 hour weigh in weirdly and I’ve been able to cut about 5lbs of water weight before. These past few months I’ve been eating at about a constant 200-250 grams of carbs a day

12 hour is odd that's for sure but it's better than 2 and should give you time to rehydrate and fuel. You could start lowering carb intake now but keep sodium the same until you start the protocol 5 days out.

Going keto would definitely allow you to drop some water weight fast, if that's your only goal.
