Confused about Fitbit exercise calories

Hi, I have a Fitbit flex 2 and it's synced with MFP. I'm a little confused about the 'exercise calories' that show up. The normal steps I take daily (I don't do any formal exercise yet, just my daily walking around) are enough to generate 300 or so extra calories per day. Can I eat those calories back if I'm really, really hungry some day or just leave them since I'm not formally exercising?
Stats in case they're important: 24 yo female, 5'2 and taking 1200 calories daily.
Thanks!

You burn more Calories when you move your weight (i.e. by walking or running). That earns Calories; so both steps and intentional exercise count.
Your total activity as estimated by Fitbit exceeded the estimated MFP Calorie goal based on your chosen MFP Activity Level (Sedentary, Lightly Active, Active, or Very Active). Since the Fitbit estimate exceeded the MFP estimate, the MFP goal was adjusted to add a positive Fitbit Calorie Adjustment.
You should eat back at least a percentage of those earned exercise Calories. Most people will recommend new users eat back at least 50 to 75% of the earned Calories for at least 4 to 6 weeks, and then adjust the percentage based on actual results.
I would recommend reading through the first three posts in this thread on the MFP Fitbit Users group...
