For the last 2 days, I've been over on my protein. By the end of lunchtime today, I'll be over it again. Should I be concerned? I am trying to avoid breads and baked goods, my weakness.

I'm typically over my protein goal on any given day. I feel there are worse things to be over (carbs and fat) so I consider it the lesser of two...er, three...evils. And keep in mind, it's only a "suggestion" from the site...you are able to increase (or decrease) your goals on your own if desired, but I'd recommend talking to a nutritionist if it still concerns you.

MFP's protein recommendations are pretty low. Don't sweat it.

You can change your amounts by selecting "goals" under the home tab and then "change goals" then select custom settings. I've set my protien to be balanced with my carb. It works out to 120 grams of protein per day.

    Thanks
  • A Nutritionist told my husband and I a few weeks ago, in order to lose body fat, multiply your weight by .7 (& workout with resistance) -that's how many grams of protein you should intake each day. Eat 5 or 6 small meals that include a lean protein and a good carb at each meal. Doing this makes my protein way over MFP's guidelines, but it's working and we feel great!
