Hi, I am almost to the goal weight that I set for myself. It's not as low as I probably should be but I weight less than i have for a very long time and I want to make sure I can maintain this weight before going lower.
I go to the gym 3 days a week and try to be able the other 4 days by getting in my steps, walking and playing with the dog, taking care of house, and some workout videos at home just to sweat a bit. I generally eat between 1400 and 1800 calories daily. I've only been going to the gym since the end of November. My workouts consist of about 20 min on elliptical or arc trainer then full body workout using the weight machines (no free weights yet) and then about 20 to 30 min on the elliptical, arc trainer, or stationary bike. I feel like I'm not doing enough to tone up but i'm not sure what I need to do. Everyone says i look great but I'm still very squishy. lol. I don't want to bulk up. Just want to look and feel fit.

Sounds like you've got the diet part under control - good job.
On the exercise front, you're doing 20ish mins cardio followed by a full body machine workout, followed by another 20-30 minutes of cardio... and you're doing that 3x week?
If you want to tone, keep on track with your diet, and put a bit more focus on weights/strength when you're at the gym. A short warmup, then put most of your effort into the weight machines. Do a little cardio after if you want, but focus your energy/efforts on strength. Lastly, make sure you continue to push yourself - don't settle into the same number of reps at the same amount of weight for weeks on end.
Also, this is probably a good time to get into free weights, if you've been putting it off.0 -
Getting a defined "tone" looks comes from a relatively low body fat, with a decent amount of muscle. If you are down to at least 25% body fat you can get a more defined look by eating at maintenance, and running a resistance program with a progressive overload. I'd consider venturing into the free weights.4

I Go to the full body workout with abs classes that also include dumbbells. Fyi. I started working out in August 2016 .... went crazy and went to the classes 6 days per week. Within 5 months I increased my CARDIO, toned my body and started to lift weights. Today i am in the best shape of my life, go to the gym 5 days per week. I go to 2 or 3 classes per week and the other times i tend to cycle for 15 to 20 min then do free weights. I now go to the gym more fir maintainence .0

Oh one other thing, nutrition is probably 80 % of the key to losing weight and the gym is 20% . Btw....who wants to be the right WEIGHT and STILL be squishy.....the gym will tone you up0
