Hey y’all. I’m having a real hard time trying to find the motivation to push through with the weight loss. I am 148lbs right now, 5’2. I need to lose 30-40lbs, I started off with 155lbs, I tried Keto for two weeks and lost 7lbs but I am not sure if it was due to the fact that I was sick, when I continued to do Keto when I wasn’t sick anymore I didn’t lose anymore weight. I am currently doing IF 16hrs fasting and 8hrs for eatinh but it is not consistent as I find myself losing motivation and end up binge eating. I really need to lose weight to be able to gain confidence. Thanks a bunch!

Maybe you are doing lots of hard and unnecessary things, leaving no mental energy to do the necessary and actually quite easy things.

To lose weight, you have to eat less, for real, consistently and for a long time. You need consistency, honesty and patience. Your food diary and a food scale are good tools if you use them correctly.

What you don't need, is trying, motivation, pushing through, keto, IF.

Eat food you like, but less. Eat less, but not too little. Eat when you want to, but it's smart to not eat all the time.

I have to second Kommodevaran. You sound stressed from trying to switch and change stuff to quickly. IF is a good tool but honestly if you have to eat say 1500 cal a day it doesn't matter if you eat it across 10 meals or 1 its still 1500 cal. Don't chase the number on the scale. I personally only check my weight once a week.

I too have my mental struggles because losing weight is hard work and it would be easier to just be unhealthy but I have to remember I didn't get like this over night so it won't be fixed over night. Keep your focus up and stay the course.

I’m really getting so stressed about it.
I’m going on Vacation this coming May and I need to lose the amount because last time I went vacation and had a mini reunion with my family they stressed out how I look so much that it kinda put me down the drain.. thanks so much for all of your responses.

No, you don't, and you can't lose 30-40 pounds by May - weight comes off as fast as it can, which is, at your current weight, up to one pound per week, and decreasing. You can't force weightloss, you can only make it not excruciating. You need to set boundaries and not accept hurtful remarks from your family.
