I'm not sure. Should I have bit my tongue, be a pleaser and just say nothing? It was eating me inside how a family member was disrespecting the memory of my late father. So so wrong. Hit a nerve.
First {Hugs to you}
Well I don't know the details of your situation, but here's my response to your question above, for what it's worth. I think in general it IS healthy to stand up for your beliefs, speak your mind and not keep things bottled up in order to "be a pleaser."
But... at the same time, especially with family, I have also learned (through Al-Anon and experience) that you really can't change or control other people, and trying to do so only makes everyone miserable. Once I learned to focus my energy on what I had power to control -- myself and my own reactions -- I gained so much serenity. Still I know sometimes it is easier said than done. We are only human and anger at other people's choices is completely normal.
Anyway, maybe that doesn't apply to your situation at all. But I hope it helps. Hang in there.0 -
I am sorry you had to face this emotional stage in your life. :sad: You are not alone. I am here any time you want to talk.:happy: I hope you feel better soon.:flowerforyou:

Kae12, tks for the kind words you wrote below. I'm trying to do what you mentioned. To just have control over my innner reactions. I just could not let this one go and say it was all ok.
Sweetassurance, thank you for your support. Yeah, I'm trying to remember I'm not alone but I feel so much in this situation.
Fitchick99, Tks for your advice. I'm sorry you went thru a bad divorce.
I'm still way too upset to write down what happened. Basically my family choosing to save $$$$ over honoring my late father's memory. Hurts to the core, what my sis and mom are choosing as what is more important. The worst thing is that both of the are mad at me and calling me irrresponsible wtih $$$$ and uncaring towards mom. Making me look like the bad person when I did nothing wrong. I only spoke up.
Oh well. This too shall pass. This too shall pass. This too shall pass. Everything happens for a reason.
It's only at test really. To test how strong I am I guess. To not crumble and have faith that all will be ok.
Thank you all for your support and caring. Last night, after I got the bad call. I went out and drove. I did not drive out to a fast food and drowned myself in food. Called my best friend and told her what's happening. Did errand. Came home. Later on Warm shower, cried many tears in the shower,and went to bed and got very good sleep. Tk goodness I went on a very long walk in the evening b4 I got the call.
I'm starting to learn that taking good care of myself. Eating right, exercise, sleeping, is not just important for healthy weight loss/fitness and health. It's important so I can be fit enough to go thru stressful situations and be able to stand up to the challenge.
Thank you all for reading and support.:flowerforyou:0 -
Since I don't know the entire story, all I will say is that you're in my prayers. I'm sorry that you're hurting, but you're learning what's important right now. You need to stay focused on you and your health. You'll be okay.0
