Classes are great to try some different things and see what you like.

Lots of gyms will have some kind of circuit training with various weight machines that can help the beginner get started in that department.

Most gyms offer a free intro session with a personal trainer - sign up and get a basic plan and some ideas to kick things off.

Cardio equipment often feels like the "safe" place to start, but venture into the weights early on so you don't psych yourself out of including weight training!

Dumbells are an easier free weight to get started with, I find them a lot easier to deal with if you're working out by yourself as well.

Start slow. Don't over do it and don't get injured...that could set u back few weeks.

I looked up a guy on YouTube and stole his workout. I recommend easing yourself into one though, maybe only 60% of what you feel you can do, it might be easy for the first few days but it's better than hurting yourself, as that typically makes it harder to get yourself back.
