I was once your weight - I'm 5ft 2 and started off at 154lbs. I took the slower weight loss route, aimed for 0.5lb a week because I didn't have too much to lose. It took the best part of a year but the best thing was I never regained what I lost - been in maintenance for almost 5 years. So I just wanted to say to all you people wanting to lose, MFP works, count your calories as accurately as possible, move a bit more too and slowly but surely you will get there.

5'7" and I started at 158. Though that doesn't sound bad 160 ish starts the overweight bmi and the military does not allow that. I'm now down to 145 a month or so later and looking to lose another 10. I know I'm tall but I need keto friends!0

Hello I'm 5-1 and I think I'm about 155. I don't weigh myself I go by my clothes but pretty much nothing fits right now. I'm on my 6 day Of My Fitness Pal. I've used it before and I really like how convenient it is. I used to use Weight Watchers but if found that it doesn't work for me because they've gotten away from basic math of calorie intake. I noticed if I follow a calorie diet I tend to eat better anyway. I lost 40 lbs before and 10 to put weight on when I'm going through a difficult time. I ended 17 year relationship back in July and have been packing on the pounds since. I recently injured my knee while exercising at the gym and realize that the extra weight isn't helping. In any case I'm serious about taking off the way and I'm stuck to my plan and I don't feel deprived because moderation is key for me. When I follow MyFitnessPal I tend to make better choices and incorporate foods that fill me up with low calorie counts. This way I can still have a treat now and then. In any case I'm looking for support to and would love to stay connected to help in any way I can. Regards, Mary1

5'3" and 166. I'm in! I want to get to 130. I'm doing the 17 day diet and am down about 11 lbs after Cycles 1 & 2, as well as a bunch of inches. I'm starting Cycle 3 today--was able to have a banana for my early AM snack. What excitement!
I much prefer to cite everything in kilograms (I'm in Israel-metric system). The numbers are much less frightening.0
