If I want to lose 2lb per week and my calorie goal for my weight/height/age/activity lvl is 1780, when I log in cardio burned 500 calories, am I suppose to eat 2280 calories for the day and i should still expect to lose 2lbs per week?

If you have set up your goals/stats correctly, that is an estimated amount - but yes, that's the idea.

Your results may differ, as your calories OUT are somewhat difficult to determine (activity level, and burns during exercise may not be exact)

Calories IN may also vary in accuracy - you can only do your best to make this as accurate as possible.

The best thing to do is be consistent for 4-6 weeks, and monitor how you're going. Adjust accordingly after this....

Correct. In theory, that is how it is supposed to work. In practice, what I have been doing is allowing myself to eat back half of those calories that I burned because I feel they may be overly optimistic. I could also be wrong and they are spot on.

My suggestion would be to try it if you want to, and if over time you are finding that the numbers do not match your results, you can make adjustments accordingly.

    Good luck!
