Day one of my low-carb intermittent fasting nutrition and exercise plan I am hypothyroid which makes it so much harder but I am focused looking to lose about 35 pounds within three months.

Wow, well it is great that you are motivated and working towards getting healthier. How does hypothyroid make it difficult (sorry, I do not know a lot about it)? Good luck to you, I know you can do it1

Woohoo for a plan! I have Hashimoto's so I feel your pain. I had a plan at the beginning of the year to lose 20lbs but well....all that leftover holiday food and booze was still lying around - and it was freezing outside....excuses, excuses! Sunday the weather was finally above zero and I felt fat, lazy and unmotivated so I dusted off the old garmin. Set a calorie burn goal and I'm four days in, feeling better about the world and optimistic about the next three months. (Not fooling myself - I may just be in a Hashi upswing...but I'm going to ride the hell out of it until I crash and burn!).
What kind of exercise plan are you following?

I have hypothroidism as well since approx. Dec and still working on getting my numbers in optimal range. I would love to from others in the same situation and particularly any success stories1

Glad to connect with someone in the same boat. Feel free to reply or message me with any questions. I’ve had it since 1/2013, lost 85 lbs but gained 30 back0

Reemore23 and Curiousgp; well pretty much your thyroid gland controls all of the hormones that all of your organs are reliant on. The three main side effects are fatigue weight gain and slow metabolism. I’m on Levothyroxine 50 mg. Mild cardio about 30 min 3 days a week with more focus on resistance training with emphasis on legs as those are the biggest muscles you can develop and muscle burns fat0

TorontoDiane, good luck. Once you get on your meds you’ll start noticing a huge difference. At least I did. Keep us posted yes on your prescription if you don’t mind and progress.0

Once my levels got in range the weight just started falling off. Im also hypothyroid and lost 200lbs. I actually eat a ton of food now just to maintain my weight haha0

Hi there. I have hashimotos and I tell you being hypo thyroid sucks. I find that eliminating most gluten and dairy helps a lot. Congrats on your plan and good luck to you0

Heya, I was diagnosed in December too and want to lose about 3 stone (42lb). Started doing mfp a few weeks ago on ~1200cal per day (which is 1000 calories a day less than I'd need to maintain my current weight). Currently lost basically nothing (I PUT ON 4lb in the first week and am now back at my start weight) and I've been logging every bite of food, staying under my calorie target, walking 3 miles a day and doing yoga and running once a week each. It's really tough to stay motivated. Hopefully my meds will be going up this week and that'll help.0

How did we do for last week? Still got our goals in sight? I messed up - ate too many calories and was short on steps. The weather took a turn for the worse which derailed me a bit. Getting back up there today - extra steps to compensate and will mindfully watch calories goals.
