Diet may have to come to a halt over reproductive health issues

Hello everyone I am having some major issues going on with my reproductive health that concerns me. It all started almost a year ago when I caught a sexually transmitted infection(trich). It was cured. Suddenly after I began to have cramps. These cramps have been on going for months until last week I finally had relief. I thought that maybe it was due to me losing weight and taking one a day woman vitamins. However, I am second guessing everything. Even the doctor that told me many months ago that I had ovarian as which was why I was experiencing the pain in the lower abdomen and back.
My period was due last week but it never came. Well, yesterday after working out I took a shower and noticed small blot on the wash cloth I was using. It alarmed me and today I noticed much more small blood clots with thick discharge. I still have not received a full cycle. The cramping and lower back pain is now gone
I read everywhere about what causes this and everything leads to HPV or cervical cancer. I have a doctors appointment with gyn on Wednesday. My last pap smear was normal
My mother who is a nurse still believe it to be hormonal.
Finding out this news and having theses symptoms have discouraged me from wanting to be healthier. I am so afraid of having cancer.
What were your symptoms of cervical cancer, ovarian cyst or any other reproductive health issues

Have you ruled out pregnancy first off?14

Yeah definitely should take a pregnancy test. I did some information about the std you had it seems like it's treatable. I'd recommend seeing a specialist in regards to your pain and cramping maybe an OBGYN, or just a ladies doctor in general.0

I do not see how finding out this news would discourage you from wanting to be healthier. If it were me, It would cause me to want to be healthier, especially if it is cancer.
I have had a huge host of reproductive health issues.
22 lb ovarian cyst and right ovary removed at 17. (No symptoms except looking like I was pregnant)
Left ovary gets cysts every month that come and go with my cycle. (sometimes painful, most times not)
Multiple Uterine Polyps removed 4 years ago. (Heavy periods/very anemic)
Extremely Painful ovulation every month (lower back pain, Feels like someone is ripping my ovary out)
Random ovary pain throughout the month
Really heavy/clotty periods.
I actually find that the healthier I eat (less processed) and the more water I drink, the better I feel. Definitely a correlation with water and my periods.
Definitely talk to your doctor when you go in on Wednesday. Make sure you tell him/her everything.
Best of luck, I hope they can find out what is causing all of it.11 -
Last week (or maybe 2 weeks ago) you were convinced you had PCOS or endometriosis. Stop consulting Dr. Google and second-guessing your medical professionals. There's always a slim chance it could be something serious, so by all means be seen to rule out worst case scenarios, and then try to stop hyper focusing on every little thing.36

See the gynaecologist before jumping to conclusions.
As for the ‘I could be sick so what’s the point in looking after myself’ mentality, many feel like that at some point. It’s not really logical reasoning though, is it?8 -
I'm not pregnant. I haven't had sex in months. I have been having reproductive health issues since 20. Absent periods and now missed period and spotting in the shower a week after period is supposed to be due. No more cramping or back pain. I'm not sure if this is cervical cancer or a cyst1

Has low energy availability been ruled out? (Low calories for exercise and activity level)0

Have your had your progesterone levels tested. Oestrogen dominance brings out so many horrid symptoms. Doctors do not tend to test for this hormone but progesterone is necessary all through life. Progesterone is the hormone which comes in at the later side of the cycle to bring on the bleed to reset the cycle. The body is complicated so if you could do some reading into oestrogen dominance for yourself following your personal set of symptoms, obviously keep to scientific papers rather than anyone's blog/possible rants.
As well as being present in foods its also in the environment, off gassing from petrochemicals/plastics and the like, some of us are more susceptible than others.7 -
Seriously having reproductive health issues should make you want to be more serious about getting healthier. Healthy fats are required for hormones to function properly as well as a healthy calorie intake.
Most people with cervical cancer don't know they have it until their smear comes back abnormal, I know a friend of mine certainly didn't and hers was stage 2 by that point.
1 in 6 women will have ovarian cysts and not know about them they are usually harmless and part of a normal cycle. I have had many I have known about over the years but, only because I have annual ultrasounds. The only reason I have annual ultrasounds is because I had a 27cm cysts (it is relatively rare for them to get that big) 5 years ago. I looked 6months pregnant and was in considerable pain by then but it wasn't until I looked 4 months pregnant (my gp's words) that I started having any symptoms.
That had to be surgically removed, it burst when they tried to remove it and on histological investigation contained abnormal cells so as a result get monitored for ovarian cancer. I was 6lbs lighter after surgery so that can give you an idea as to how big this monster had grown, ovarian torsion was a real risk by then. I'm half way through the monitoring period, they have found 6 cysts during the 5 years, the monitoring period gets shortened, but all went on their own without me knowing a thing as in symptom less and without requiring surgery. They had just disappeared by the next ultrasound.
I do get cramps during ovulation which can last a while, I also get random pains due to scar tissue (adhesions). As a result of the adhesions one of my fallopian tubes got blocked and also had to be surgically removed.
Due to these issues I have only wanted to be in a healthy weight range and look after myself, not less. It is less of a toll on my body to go through surgery if I'm at a healthy weight and it is likely that I may need a full hysterectomy at some point, if I'd been ten years older at the time and had children that is what my consultant would have recommended. My periods will also be more likely to stay normal at a healthy weight.
A lot of things can affect a women's menstrual cycle and there is nothing unusual to skipping a period for no reason. I have had it happen and when i mentioned it to the consultant he wasnt remotely concerned. Being obese or overweight as well as being underweight can affect your period. Too much calorie restriction can affect your period, stress can affect your period, they are all ways of your body to tell you something isn't optimal for reproduction.
So do carry on with weightloss and being healthy, have a conversation with your gynae and don't panic it could be nothing. One more point, it is sometimes really hard to tell the difference between bowel cramps and uterine cramps so those cramps may not even have been what you think they were.8 -
Right first of i have had ovarian cysts removed 3 times & I'm due to have another removed.
I have just had a baby and still look pregnant what i will say is i have had treatment on my cervix for CIN 3 which is changes in the cervix.
I had lower back and stomach pain i am getting this now again and waiting on my smear results CIN is changes that occur to the cervix and doesn't necessarily mean you will go onto get cancer.
I know its hard but try not to panic i do have the hpv infection but your body does go on to clear it itself most of the time.
Go for a smear but stay calm.3 -
Ok now I've read a post i missed i do believe you could be suffering anxiety of some sort.
Stop reading google it will not help you the stress of believing your going to die from any sort of illness will not help your periods.
I suffer pain from my cervix due to the treatment nothing else and around the time of the month due to my scars from ovarian surgerys.
Have you maybe consulted the dr about constantly worrying about your health i know it's scary but if nothing comes back abnormal hun try speak to someone.
And another thing i lost weight during my issues to remain healthy to fight it off not let it beat me.2 -

It's worth the time and effort to find a doctor who isn't just ticking off check boxes when treating you (which can be frustrating and difficult). I'll always advise people to listen to their medical professional over Dr. Google.5 -

absolutely, I agree. I just have notice both can be full of... not always the most helpful advice.6 -
In a thread last month you said you were around 300 pounds. Being that much overweight is going to adversely affect your reproductive health.
Feel free to see a doctor to reassure yourself, and be prepared for them to tell you to lose weight.7 -
Fibroids could cause these symptoms and are not big deal. Stay calm, stop googling symptoms, as even a headache could be indicative of a life threatening illness, and follow up with you doctor.4

Hello everyone so I'm back to give an update. After seeing countless of doctors even a gynecologist who told me my symptoms were from a UTI, I went to very reputable gyno in the area that told me I have Bacteria Vaginosis and she sent me for blood work at lab Corp for PCOS.
I was so shocked! BV is diagnosed with a swab and all of my swabs prior were not showing BV. I'm thinking that the gyn prior was not swabbing me for BV just stds because I was diagnosed with one in the past(trich).
They were so kind and helpful. Thank God I'm feeling some relief after taking the meds. The gyno told me it comes from new sexual partners which I haven't had since last year, soap, and hormones.
I have an ultrasound next week and the doctor will explain my blood work to determine pcos and thyroid issues5 -
Also, I have lost 33 pounds! 340 to 307! I will be out of the 300 club in no time.8

That's great news! Congrats on your weight loss! I had BV when I was pregnant and it is really easily treated with antibiotics.
I hope you feel hopeful and encouraged about continuing your weight loss journey!:-)1 -
Glad you found the right doctor! Thanks for the update. Let us know when you make it to the 200s.0
