Is it ok to use protein powder twice daily? I'm using one I got from trader Joe's(whey, 100 cal. 16 grams protein, 4 carbs). I've been making proats and want to add a protein smoothie daily. Opinions?

I'd just eat some meat or fish or low fat dairy personally. I supplement with powder about once a week...0

I make a smoothie for lunch everyday with protein powder, and make desserts most nights which also include it. Have been doing this for years.0

I use it twice a day and it's 30 grams and I have lost 75lbs , but now I need to check with my Doctor after reading what the guy above me post0

I usually do one protein shake daily, if I don't get to my goal with other foods, I'll do another one after dinner.0

What the guy above you posted is not a real thing.7 -
I do it some days if I didn't hit my protein and I am running out of time to eat. If it helps you hit your goal and you like it, I don't see the issue.0

Watch out, it might give you the toots!0

I have 2 x 25g servings most days, in order to hit my 25% protein goal. Not noticed any negative effects.0

Most protein I’ve used is 25-30g. So it’s once a day, post workout for me.
If you’re getting protein from other sources, you shouldn’t need more.
My .02.
Absorption rates and what your body can and will use are two different things.2 -

And @debbiebondklein
Whey protein is just a food, not really special.
For learning to eat long term at maintenance I would suggest using whey protein as a supplement to your normal diet when needed rather than use as a primary source. But that's for long term adherence reasons, it's not a problem in itself.2
