In need of help/advice

Everything I eat apparently has a lot of carbs, and I have been told I should eat only protein food.. help with ideas of meals?.. or better yet what should I not eat (of course I know the obvious ones like burguers, pizza, pasta, bread)

Who told you this? There's a lot of misinformation out there. Carbs can be part of a nutritious and balanced diet. If you are following a specific diet plan, that you find you are happy with, then that's different, but carbs are not the devil. Most foods are combinations of carbs, fats, and proteins. Some may be just protein, but even meat has fat in it. I'm just trying to get you to think about your source of information and if it makes sense to you.

What? Which bright light to bro-science told you this?
My diet is high carb (45-50% ish) I live quite happily on those and feel great with them. It is just my favourite filing food. Most of my carbs come from vegetables and fruit (yes they are high carb) and I love the stuff.
I agree with the posters above; eat what you like and what makes you feel happy. All you need to loose weight is a calorie deficit and a diet you can sustain. Just as a side note though For me personally My favourite meals did change as I was on this journey, be prepared for that too B)

Carbs are fine! Some people, like me, feel best with a good amount of carbs (45%). I do make sure to get enough protein because for me that helps with satiety. But otherwise, I’ve been able to lose weight, get stronger, etc with plenty of carbs.

I eat loads of fruits and veggies, so carbs are an inevitability. Fats are also good for you, which is great for me as I love nuts and I love avocado. Mmmm ... PB on toast is calling me - carbs/fats/proteins - that has everything. I just either have a half slice of toast or a whole, depending what I can spare on my daily allowance. And I am careful to weigh that PB - that stuff adds up.

Eat the foods you like - in moderation. Stay within the daily allowance. You will get the hang of it pretty quickly. (Some foods you log and see the cals and you think - um, not worth it, try pre-logging a bit).

Who told you not to eat carbs? and there's nothing wrong with any of the foods you mentioned. Weight gain happens because we take in more calories than we burn.

You need to do your own research. First you have to research which sources can be trusted. Look for science, not the media’s regurgitated science. They turn everything into clickbait.

If you go around trying to make a plan based on what family or friends or people on a message board tell you, you’ll lose your mind.

Probably someone on Keto (Keto Diet) told you to do that.
