Hi guys. I have the fitbit blaze. Just syncyed it yesterday. It says i burned 3400 calories. Mfp gives me 2000 calories to eat a day. Is this a good deficit? Yesterday I did workout, so usually I probably only burn 2800-3000 a day. I don't have mfp set up to give me more calories if i workout.

I'm not sure why you'd bother to connect them to each other but not let them work the way they're designed to. Use them or not, but if you're going to use them why not do it correctly?

Assuming your fitbit is accurate, if you burned 3400 calories over the course of the day and MFP has you set at 2000 to eat, that's a 1400 calorie deficit and probably too much. The way MFP is set up is for you to eat back exercise calories. I don't know your stats but I assume you are set to lose 2 pounds a week which is a 1000 deficit per day. You should net 2000 calories a day.

One day of an overly large deficit won't hurt you but if you continually leave that many calories and are losing more than 2 pounds a week, you probably need to eat more.
