Weirdest Thing You've Found While Walking/Biking/Running

I think I'm really starting to love this walking thing.

Today I randomly found a boot just sitting on the walking path. A bit up, I found it's partner sitting on a bench.

I had to wonder; HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?

Did someone steal these and just dump them? Was someone so drunk they just abandoned them?

How?

Keep in mind this is Canada. Today it's -14C (feels like -20C), or 7F for you Americans. One does not simply walk away without their boots.

I also came across two young girls who were sliding down the path (which is built on the top of a hill) and then climbing back up just to slide down again! Looked like fun!

What is the weirdest thing you've found while out and about becoming a healthier you!

Nothing weird but a few times walking on a path trail in the woods last year there was a few times coming across long nasty snake sliding across the trail ! :scream:

    AAAH! That's terrifying!

One time I came across what I thought was a bear... turned out to be a big black dog! LOL! That sure kick-started my heart.

Must a been a really big hairy dog ...lol

In my defense it was mostly just rustling trees and a big black shape that I saw initially. LOL. My brain translated bear because it tends to be an anxious brain.

I live in Florida. Couldn't even count the number of snakes I've come across. Only one gator though (on the bank of the retention pond along side the path...didn't get too close).

I found a wallet in the road one time! Grabbed my husband and we drove over to the kid's house to give it back. He was super grateful to us and now I always keep my eye out for interesting things!

Oh, and my dog found a piece of pizza in someone's yard once. Does that count? :D

A Bear and her cub ( not a good thing to run into on the A.T.)

    Also... rattlesnakes and Copperhead snakes.

D: Totally my worst fear. The bear, not the snakes. We don't get snakes that are dangerous here. Just the silly, tiny ones.

I once was walking on railroad tracks that went through a woodsy area. Something caught my eye in the woods so I went to investigate.

I found a strange camp that someone clearly had been living in. There were clothes, a mattress, food, and a few other essentials. The odd part is they had no coverage from the rain unless they packed away a tarp. What became even more weird is that I found a journal/notebook that basically documented this person running away.. yet I went to school with said person the year prior. It was.. odd.

    Crabs (not THAT kind).
Someone must have bought live crabs from the store to cook. Ended up releasing them in the pond at the park by my house. Still alive. Someone called the Humane Society and they came and got them.

Last summer while on a hike I saw, and I kid you not, a pack of coyotes passing a hypodermic needle around. The opioid crisis has hit Yosemite apparently.

    I found a women's Discover card on a run.
No I did not use it. I cut it up.

Worst find was a pair of men's underware.

I walk the same trail every Saturday and Sunday morning. I go over a bridge of that trail that I hook up to about 1/4 mile down, but I kept seeing people walking under the bridge, so I thought I would try it. It was last year. The day after Daylight Savings time. I walked down to the river that the bridge goes over. I turned the corner and was under the bridge. I walked right into about a dozen homeless people. Shooting up meth. Everyone stopped and looked up at me. I wasn't about to turn back. I just walked through the middle of them herfing on my cigar. Got about half way through when the alpha male looked up. I said, "Hey, did you guys remember to set your clocks ahead an hour?" and kept moving. I don't go under that bridge any more, but it is still occupied.

LOL!!!!! OH dear. Good thing you reminded them about that pesky Daylight Savings Time!

Nothing weird but I did find a baby turtle one time, it was so cute and I wanted to take it home but I let it go back to slowly crossing the trail.

No picture, but last summer I found a sealed 11x17 magnetic wipe board w/marker on the side of the road. It's on my fridge. Now, if I could just find cash...
