Recipes and cooking are very individual. If I'm trying to get rid of existing food in the house, then I go to myfridgefood.com and input what I have for some suggestions. If I have an idea of what I want to make, say rice pudding for example, then I just do a google search and look for an appealing recipe. If I have something in mind, like chili or pasta sauce, then I tend to just throw things together. I also have a few cookbooks.

Perhaps some more guidance as to what you are looking for, would be helpful.

Yes. Some guidance would be helpful. Are there any particular foods you are fond/not fond of? A particular diet strategy? Working with a tight budget? Cooking for yourself or a whole family?

For dinner tonight I had a greens and grains bowl. Any greens and grains will do, then add on what veggies you like, and whatever vegetarian protein source you like.

    I had:
sprouted brown rice (46 g. dry weight)
    arugula
    shredded carrots
stir-fried cabbage & tofu (press or squeeze it to get the water out -- 240 g before squeezing)
    half an avocado (53 g)
some Harvard beets (cooked beets that are canned in sweet and sour flavored beet juice)
    two fried eggs
1 Tbsp grape seed oil to cook the cabbage, tofu, and eggs
    salt and pepper

    Very yummy.

(855 calories, 42 g protein, 18 g fiber -- I had a pretty small breakfast and lunch today, so I had a lot of calories to play around with)

    My veggie taco filling recipe:

    1 cup prepared black beans
    1 cup prepared brown rice
2 cups dry textured vegetable protein
    2 cups water
    4 tablespoons taco seasoning

....bring the water and taco seasoning to a boil, turn off heat and stir in the TVP. Wait 10 minutes. Stir in the beans and rice. I seem to recall that it makes 15, 3.5 ounce servings (just enough to make a decent taco). 71 calories each and 9 grams of protein.
