As I log the food I eat calories go down. Then when exercise is added I get more calories to eat. The question is do I eat them or skip them?

They are added as you are expected to eat them, it's the way this site sets your goal and accounts for exercise.

You will find some really helpful "sticky threads" pinned to the top of the various forums, well worth the time having a read.

What if you don’t eat the added calories? Is that a bad thing?!?

Not necessarily. You are just in a bigger deficit and initially will still lose weight. However, in my experience after doing that for a while the weight loss will plateau. I have found that I lose weight more steadily from eating them, or at least most of them. I am also much happier lol. Not a starving, ravenous biznatch haha.

Possibly. You’d be creating a larger deficit, but that can lead to more muscle loss and a host of other health issues.

Eat 50-75% of the exercise calories back to account for over estimated calorie burns in the database.
