diets dont work...just so you know...a well balanced food consumption along with an active lifestyle is the only way to keep weight off...diets are just quick fixes that dont last...
  • if you look on the 'losing fat' forum of the bodybuilding.com forums it seems to have a lot of success stories, there's a thread called 'why IF [Intermittent Fasting] is king' with a lot of before/after pictures.

leangains isnt a diet. Its a protocol. It is by no means a "quick fix" for anything. I suggest you do more research and less posting on the subject.

To the OP: I have been doing the 16/8 leangains protocol for a long time now. Incredible increase in energy, stamina, strength, etc.

The whole thing is based on natural hormone manipulation of factors like ghrelin and leptin. (as an example ghrelin is a a facilitator for growth hormone production and relese).

I have also been on Lean Gains for quite some time now (3 or so months?) and have great success with fat loss and strength gain. It's a part of my lifestyle now, likely never to change!

Is anyone still following the leangains protocol? Today is my first day and so far have done ok but wondering about my macros....

I want fat loss so I have my MFP set for 1700 cal with 35% Carb 35% protien and 30% fat.
This is close to my MFP maintence so I will try to eat this way on lifting days
Then on non lifting days I plan to eat 1400 cal with higher fat and less carbs

I am 5' 7" and 149 hoping to drop bodyfat.....I really dont care about scale wt but I dont have a reliable way to measure bodyfat so will have to use scale wt to some extent as well as measurements etc.

Does the above macros look like they will help me achieve my fat loss goals?
  • I follow the leangains protocol and have had fantastic success so far. You also might want to check out the facebook group Fit Fierce Fearless - it's all women who follow IF and lift heavy. They are AMAZING!!!

I would also look at www.1percentedge.com/ifcalc/ to help determine your macros. What you've listed sounds like it would work, but it's all a process of experimenting what works for you.
