Do you want to know your calorie burn without a HRM!? Come h

I found this great calculator to judge your calorie burn even if you don't have a heart rate monitor! I DO have a HRM, but some people were saying my burn seemed too high. Well, I wanted to make sure it was accurate so I kept manually checking my heart rate throughout my INSANITY workout and it matched the number on my HRM. Then, I found this site and put in my age, weight, duration of workout, and average heart rate. Even if you don't use a HRM, you can get your average heart rate by checking your pulse throughout your workout and keeping track of the max and the lowest heart rate.

I plugged in my numbers and it was only 2 CALORIES OFF!

YAY!

Just thought this might help some people!

No problem! I was in the same boat-just really getting worried that a 60 dollar HRM was not accurate DID NOT make me feel good, but by testing to see if the heart rate was accurate and then checkig the calorie burn I now know I have nothing to worry about!

    Glad I could help! :)

That calculator is not bad, it was pretty close to mine unless I did weights or personal training sessions.. then it was way off!

Weird. It pretty much doubled what I know I burn in an hour.

This calculator nearly doubles what my FT7 says for calories burned. 50 minutes with an average of 154 is about 450 on my Polar. Here, the calculator gives me 796.

I have an FT7 too and it was only 30-40 calories off.
