I have been dieting and working out 6 days a week running 4 days and gym weights 2 days. I seriously lost 8 lbs in a week after almost two months of this and then in one day I gained 5 lbs because I had one burger. What am I missing? I have seriously been working my butt off! I am a mother of 6 so any advice would be appreciated. And I know muscles weighs more than fat but I haven’t lost inches either! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!

You're not missing anything, not even the good stuff. Use the myfitnesspal food diary to accurately record the food you eat. Enjoy the food you eat. Stay in a calorie deficit over time and you'll continue losing more weight. Those frequent one-day gains of 5 lb are very likely to be water retention more than anything else, and a subsequent day or two of staying in a calorie deficit will allow the water to drop off.3

Keep logging accurately and you'll see some weight drop. The burger might have had more sodium than you're used to and you retained water weight. Just keep drinking water and you will slough it off soon.
Muscle is NOT heavier than fat. One pound of potatoes equals one pound of feathers. Muscle is more dense than fat, which means it will look like you are more toned and perhaps more trim than you were in certain areas.
As long as you plan for the calories it contains, it's okay to have a burger. Stay in calorie deficit and you'll do well.2 -
