One Year Today!

Today marks one year from the first day of my new way of life. One year alcohol free and one year since I started my weight loss journey. One year ago today, I was laying in a hospital bed, was 204 pounds, had fluid in my lungs and was told I had a weakened heart muscle most likely caused by years of over-indulging in alcohol. I decided that at the ripe old age of 58, I had to give this a shot, that life WAS worth living to the fullest and I couldn't do that if I was sick, fat and exhausted. Hat's off to everyone that has been there with me on this ride. I've lost 45 pounds, my heart function has returned to normal and I'm off all medications. I still have 20 pounds to go, but I know I can do it. Slow and steady, one pound and one day at a time.
