How do i get back into it?

I've gained a lot of weight recently, almost 20 pounds in a few months. I kind of just let myself go and always told myself I'd get back into it although it somehow spiralled out of control and I'm wondering where do i even start to get back to losing weight again? My eating is terrible and I stopped exercising. Work is stressful, just had a kid so my schedule is crazy these days and barely sleeping.
I know once i start, I can lose the right. I will count my calories, work out, etc etc. It's just "starting" that's the problem.
I Want to start off my first drinking 3-4 litres of water a day to help shed some water weight and slowly begin to eat better. I also will take Chlorophyll twice a day to help get some nutrients in me, i also use metamucil twice a day. This is all just "clean" my body as i slowly transition into working out and eating better.
Any suggestions on how to get out of a funk? I really want to get back into shape for Myself but more importantly My Family.
Any suggestions would help.
Thanks!

Aim for smaller steps, if that helps. I've been doing that the past few weeks and it's been helping me build a bigger change. One week I focused on hitting a consistent protein goal, another I focused on walking my dog earlier in the day, little things like that. The water is a great place to start, I'd say go for it and build from there.1

Thank You!
I'll be drinking at least 4L a day, I'm sure it will make me feel somewhat better, and lighter lol. I'm just sluggish and tired these days and i hate the feeling. I'm at my heaviest i've ever been.0 -
Starting with just logging what you're eating normally can be a good place to get going from, it can help you see better where you can cut down your calorie intake without making overly dramatic changes.
Once you have that information you can see where you can make some small changes like:- Eating smaller portions - example: weighing out correct portion size of pasta instead of free-pouring
- Switching some higher calorie foods to lower calorie versions - example: switching from coke to diet coke or water
- Changing cooking methods - example: grilling or roasting foods instead of frying
- Bulking out meals with lower calorie foods - example: instead of having steak and a pile of chips you could have steak, a reasonable portion of chips and some vegetables/salad
All the little changes add up, you don't have to starve or make massive changes to your diet to lose weight and once you get comfortable with calorie counting and losing weight, you can then focus on improving nutrition.0 -
First, if you've "just" had a kid then you probably need to focus on sleep and recuperating instead of working out and calorie counting. If "just" means 6-8 months ago then maybe you can start eating better and doing some walking or other exercise to get back into the groove. It has taken me until my son was 7 months old to get enough sleep to work out 3-5 times a week while hubby takes over duties in the morning.
Okay, so if you are ready then start logging everything you put in your mouth, always, every day.
Choose healthy food as opposed to junk and remember that you deserve to feel good!! Do this for you, not for anyone else.1
