Does everyone include and log all active calories burnt in a day or just the ones burnt through a workout?

I have my Fitbit synced to MFP. It tracks my activity for me.

    Just purposeful exercise.

The activity you do on a regular basis is accounted for in Activity Level.

How does Myfitnesspal calculate my initial goals?

Just workouts. The activity setting in my MFP profile accounts for the rest of my calories.

On a side note - both way works if you do them correctly. And which one is "better" will be very individual.

I log everything. My Fitbit is synced to MFP account so that tracks steps, and then I track any other exercise I do besides. Everything counts because it's more calories going out and burning up!

My mfp only syncs my workouts from my Apple Watch and not my normal daily activity

Yes, but when you set your activity level on MFP when you set up your account, that is supposed to include your normal daily activity. That's how your calorie goal is set. If you log your daily activity *and* include it in your activity level, you're double-dipping.

I understand that but for some reason it only transfers my work out calories. How do I change this? I’ve tried changing my syncing settings before from mfp and Apple health

I don't have an Apple Watch, so I don't know. Sorry!

Do you have negative calorie adjustments enabled? Perhaps it is syncing both, but you're underactive and it's just not showing?

Maybe start a thread with "Apple watch" and "Activity calories, help" in the title...

It's been hit or miss for me. Currently, though, mfp is syncing my steps from my apple watch.

It’s doing my steps but not calories

That doesn't answer my question - do you have negative calorie adjustment enabled in MFP?

I get an adjustment on non-workout days from my Apple Watch

I don’t know what that means

Go to Settings > Diary Settings. There is a checkbox to enable negative calorie adjustments. Is that checked? If not, check it and see what happens over the next few days.
