Picking it up again

Hello all,

I was able to lose 35 lbs with eating right and exercise, but I quit tracking my food over a year ago and could never lose the last 15-20 lbs. I'm ready to pick it up and try to lose those last pounds and not gain them back. I love the exercise, it's definitely the sweets and snacks that get me.

    Ugh! Sweets are EVIL. I can do alright eating the stuff that's good for me, but after almost every meal, I crave sweets. It sucks. However, I've looked online and in a few "dieting" cookbooks for some recipes for sweets that are lower in sugar/fat/etc. And actually, tonight, I plan to go to the store to buy some of the ingredients so I can try making them. Hopefully one of these recipes will come out tasting delicious!

    Let me know how they turn out. Sweets are my down fall. After entering what I ate yesterday (which is a normal day for me) I can see why I'm not losing weight anymore. Have to cut out those sweets! Good luck!

    Okay, so my sister and I tried three recipes from this Dr. Atkins recipe book and two (Swedish Cream and Crustless Cheesecake) of the three came out tasting good, the third (Coconut Custard Pudding), didn't taste bad but I think we messed up because the consistency of it wasn't right and we substituted rum extract for butterscotch (we couldn't find it and didn't know what else to use).

    I left the book at home, but if you'd like, I can post the recipes on here. That book also had some other dessert recipes, though I'm sure you could find some tasty ones online.

    I have the same problems with sweets. Everyone who knows me knows that I could eat cake all day long. It's my biggest down fall. I just don't know how to controll myself.

    I have been having a problem trying to post question on her so I could get some feedback but I am not sure if I am doing it correctly. I need all the support I can get.

    I am picking it up again too. I was not exercising and not tracking my food for a few months. I have a hard time losing weight so not exercising and tracking my food doesn't help. I am like Hattie I love some sweets after dinner....it's so hard but I am trying to stay away from them.

    By the way, the desserts I made used Splenda instead of sugar...so that's why I didn't feel quite so guilty about them. And I've made myself only have very small portions at a time instead of pigging out like I'd like to do. :tongue:
