the first two weeks I lost 4 lbs and couldn't believe it, i felt like i had to force myself to eat more half the time. this week i gained .8 lbs....i know i shouldnt worry about a small gain one week but does anyone have any idea what could have caused it? or if there's anything i should do differently? the only thing i changed in this 3rd week was i tried to keep my sugar lower....which i wouldnt expect to cause a gain/hinder losses. feel free to check out my diary!

TOM? Not getting enough water?0

Wel, looking briefly at your diary I can see you're eating pretty well. Maybe drink more water? On another note, when is your period? I am finishing up mine and I have to say, it depressed me lol. I weighed byself yesterday and I had gone up almost 3 pounds. I was crushed. This morning, I was down 4. It really fluctuates a lot and we shouldn't be too hard on ourselves when the number we look down at isn't where we thought it "should" be.0

muscle! the more you work out, the more you'll start building muscle, and your scale will fluctuate a bit in the beginning, just keep going! =D0

Did you weigh more over consecutive days? I would not be too concerned about a single weigh in. It could be water weight (high sodium?) or TOM.0

It is more than likely water retention....Just continue what you are doing, drink lots of water to flush out your system...and watch your sodium intake...0

I.. ignore slight gains. I went up 2 pounds one weekend, and back down on Monday. The body fluctuates.0

its not really TOM for me yet, and i drink a crapton of water i just dont log it bc its hard to keep up with since i drink so much
i did also notice this week that i havent been um, needing to go to the restroom as much if you know what i mean and i don't mean to pee, but i cant figure out the why for that either0 -
You don't build muscle on calorie deficit. This is a myth. More than likely it's water retention that's got her up.muscle! the more you work out, the more you'll start building muscle, and your scale will fluctuate a bit in the beginning, just keep going! =D0 -
Go back to the initial diet you had the first two weeks and don't let those 4lbs that you quickly lost startle you. You always lose the most weight at the beginning of a diet, but the losses diminish over time.
If you are going to increase the amount of food you consume, don't do it based on the scale, do it based on how you feel. If you feel fatigued to the degree that it hinders your ability to workout hard, then that is a good reason to eat more.
The above posters are all correct too. Water retention is a likely cause of sudden weight gains of a lb or less. A day's worth of change isn't enough data to make sound diet judgements.0
